Vehicle Detail
NO RESERVE SALE BASIC DESCRIPTION: This is a 1966 Malibu Chevelle. It was built to be a driver not a show queen but it does just fine at Sunday car shows. The chassis mileage is a guess at this point but virtually everything has been replaced short of a full-frame-off rotiserie. The engine has ~60k miles on it. It's a classic car with all the modern touches of a powerful and efficient LS1 5.7L V8 paired with a 4L60e automatic transmission. I either get a thumbs-up and smiles driving this car or disapproving stares from California Prius drivers - even though it gets ~25mpg from the 3:07 rear end. This car will make for a great daily driver but will also make for a nice 1/4mile or Autocross car with some adjustments like a 4:11 12-bolt - it's got the foundation to accomplish either in terms of suspension and engine. I would not hesistate to drive it anywhere and it will give any modern day car a run for it's money. It also takes to the corners very well. Stops incredibly well too. THINGS TO CONSIDER: Desirable classic cars like the 64, 66, 69, 70 Chevelles rarely ever depreciate. If you buy well you will have a nice investment grade asset on your hands. In terms of the paint condition, I inherited the paint job from the previous owner. It's not the best and has random scratches and debris chips here and there (you would have to really look). The interior dashboard needs some work to be pristene (see video). It has not bothered me all these years but I do have a stock steel dashboard and a brand new dash pad to include with the sale. Also included in the sale is the original instrument cluster and a few other odds and ends. I've collected a few parts over the years which the new owner can have. In terms of the body/frame: this car has been in a rear-end accident at some point in it's 46 year life. It was repaired by the previous owner and i'd say it's a B+ job. It's good enough to not have to waste your money redoing it unless of course you plan to do a frame-off. Just my $0.02. There's a vibration in the dash somewhere. The power steering pump and belt tensioner is also little weak and might need replacing at some point. I've been waiting for them to break but they seem to last forever in current state. I'm telling you all the bad items here so you'll encounter no surprises. WHY I'M SELLING: I own several cars. This one was driven ~500 miles over the past 3 yrs. It's time for someone else to enjoy it.
