This car is a two owner 1981 Garage kept Honda Prelude. I purchased the car back in July of 1998. The first owner was a retired school teacher from Beaver Pa, who had only put 6,800 miles on the car. Since then I have put 38,450 miles in over 14 years witch puts the miles per year at an average of 2,200 miles. Everything has been kept up to date with the service including timing belt, water pump, new air condition compressor, new front and rear strut inserts, brakes calipers, break shoes, pads and regular oil changes every three months. The clutch has never been changed and I don't think it will need it for a long time. Also I have changed the b pipe and muffler. The engine does not smoke or leek of anything. This car runs, drives and looks new. Things that I have changed on this car is the front grill witch is from a 1979, I did this because I liked this look. I sold the 81 grill on ebay years ago. Also if you notice the bumper turn signals were changed to the amber and white European lens. I also added the 5speed emblem below the right rear tail light witch was standard on the 82 Prelude. Added factory options on the car are rear mud flaps, passenger side mirror witch unfortunately was snapped but as you will see in the photo electrical tape holds it in place very well, a top of the line stereo cassette deck from Honda with front and rear speakers and under the passenger seat a factory Honda power booster amp. The tape deck works but the am/fm tuner does not. The interior is almost perfect. The drivers seat does show some wear from me getting in and out of the car and also pictured are two very small holes in the right corner of the dash. Now for the bad. About 5 years ago the driver side door was slightly backed into and the dent was not reparable with the dent wizard so I had it redone buy a professional. The paint and even the factory orange peal match perfectly. There are now two rust spots, a small scratch and one small ding on the car as you will see in the pictures. The rust on the rear valance is surface rust with no holes that has just started to bubble over 2 years ago and also a very small spot on the passenger front fender well. Included with this sale is a binder with collection of almost every Prelude brochure from every country and also magazine articles and advertisement from all the car magazines for the first generation Prelude. I have every reciept from the time the first owner purchased it to every service and every part that bought. I also have an original front bra and floor mats. The 175/70/13 tires did pass inspection in September but will need to be replaced soon. As for the option Honda mag wheels they show very well with some pitting on the outside rims. You have to remember that this car is 32 years old. I have owned over 17 Honda automobiles in my life and I have keept yhis one the longest but it's time for this one to find a new home.
