Vehicle Detail

This car has a clear Illinois Title. Runs and drives good. Many new parts, see below. Can be driven today without a problem. Car has always been stored under a cover since I bought it. The cover goes with. I have tried to explain the vehicle's condition below. I would love to keep this car but just never had the time to fix it up and now that I'm out of work, I don't have the money. This is a really great car, my loss is your gain. I just want someone to really enjoy this car the way I did when I had time to drive it. The car is available for inspection if you want to come see it before bidding or have any other questions email me a message or send a text to 708-743-5480. I rescued this car from an abandoned building that was slated to be torn down in 2004. When I found this car it was sitting uncovered with the top down in a building that was used to wash and detail other cars. The car was covered in about an inch of dirt and dust. I tracked down the former owner and convinced him to let me save the car. I had my mechanic go through the whole vehicle. He did the following work on it in late 2004, repair fuel lines, bleed brakes, change transmission fluid, rear differential lube, change engine oil and filter, install new water pump, fill with anti-freeze, install new timing belt, repair throttle body meter. I have read and been told that the biggest issue with these cars is the timing belt and that been replaced already for you! Since this work has been done I have only driven the car about 200 miles due to other projects and no time! I've read that there are 3 main areas when restoring a car. Interior, Exterior, and engine-mechanical. The engine and mechanical issues are taken care of for you. I drove this vehicle just a few weeks ago and it runs great. The only areas of concern are the brakes are a little soft, probably due to sitting in storage for awhile, and will need to be bled. The other issue is that the throttle sticks a little but that just needs some lubricant sprayed on it. I also just installed a new battery. The interior is in pretty good shape. The front seats have no rips or tears and were cleaned when I brought the car home in early 2005. I never cleaned the rear seats because I never had anyone sitting in them and just never got around to it. They also don't have any rips or tears in them. The rest of the inside is in great shape, from the original wood on the dash and the carpets to the original radio that works great. I have a new horn button but didn't put it on because I was going to clean the steering wheel first, but the horn works! The exterior is in need of some work but really isn't bad for a 32 year old car. The original brown paint is faded a bit on the front drivers side 1/4 panel but is in good shape on the rest of the car. There is 2 small rust spots on the trunk about the size of a half dollar. There is also a small dent on the rear passenger side 1/4 panel and a pushed in section on the front passenger side 1/4 panel that you can barely see, I think someone leaned on it too hard. The major issue with the exterior is the top. It is ripped and the windows are torn. A convertible should be stored with the roof in the up and latched position since the fabric can shrink and then it will not latch, but like I said when I found it, it had been stored top down for years. Everything is there, it just needs new fabric. Or you can just leave it down like I did and under the boot cover, it covers the top when it is down. A few other issues, the drivers side rear bumper corner is missing, I never ordered another one because I was going to take the bumpers off and change to a different style. The radio antenna is missing but the radio still works great though. The hood and trunk badges are in bad shape, I have brand new ones but never installed them since I was intending to fix and repaint the body. The fuel door handle is missing but I have a new one of these also. It also wasn't put on for the same reason as above. The following items go with the vehicle if you want them. Original Owners Warranty and Service Book Original Owners Manual for the radio Original book of locations to get service for the car when it was new Owners Manual, Reproduction.
