Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1987 Porsche 944S. This is S model has the upgraded engine with the 16 valve cylinder head. I recently put on some 17 inch wheels off a Porsche Boxster with nearly new sport tires. The stock 16 inch wheels will be included with the sale. They are in good shape, but the tires mounted on them are bald. I have had it for a few years, and up until this past year it was my daily driver. Within the past 5000 miles it has had all new valves, cam chain and timing belts. The work was done by a very reputable shop that specializes in Porsches. The Porsche runs great, although if you let it sit for more than a few days in a row the battery will die. I haven't bothered to figure out what is draining the battery. The paint is faded in spots and has an inconsistent finish. If I were keeping it, I would plan on having it painted. The interior has some cracks in the seats and is a little dirty, but should clean up well. The dash is in good shape. The window switch trim on the drivers door is loose and missing a screw. The digital clock does not work. The stereo was stolen a couple months ago, but I have a spare I would include in the sale. It will just need to be wired up. The sunroof has been replaced with a glass sunroof. The previous owner stated it was from a 968, but it could be aftermarket. It leaks and will require attention if you plan to leave the car outside. I have a spare stock sunroof that is painted black and needs weatherstripping and brackets to be installed. The car is equipped with power locks, but they do not work. This is an old sports car, so there may be more little electrical problems that I am forgetting. If you know 944s, you know what I mean. The car runs and drives, but has been sitting for about a year. It will need some work to return to daily use. I have only driven it 15-20 times in the past year. As it stands, though, it is a great car to fire up on weekends and go have some fun. The odometer shows about 147,000 miles, but this is not correct. It has been broken since before I bought it. I have tried to describe this car to the best of my abilities. It is sold as is where is, with no warranty. I would love to keep it but am moving across the country and can't afford to bring it. If you have any questions, feel free to send me an email. I should get back to you relatively quickly.
