Up for auction is a believed to be a 1949 Jaguar Xk120 convertible. This is a field find in central Texas. I have little knowledge of these cars but have done a little research online. The car has a 3.5 liter inline 6. Motor seems complete minus the generator. Pictures tell the story. This car has aluminum doors, hood and trunk. The hood is broke off the hinges but I do have it. Also front bumper or what is left of them. No keys or title. Prefer to sell complete car. Number plate on cowl is F403.On Feb-04-12 at 14:23:24 PST, seller added the following information:I'm told that this may be a 1952-1954 car. I have found no numbers on the car except a small plate on drivers side cowl and the number there is F408? Last digit is rusty and may be a 3, 8 0r 0. I'll add more pics later.On Feb-07-12 at 16:39:06 PST, seller added the following information: Ok, I keep looking for numbers on this car, all I have found is a possible"33" ahead of the starter, C4953 and D180 or D780 on the intake between the carbs, and on the radiator:MARSTON EXCELSIOR, LEEDS 12 ORDER# P-102 2, AND SERIAL # 644. Have added pics of the top bows (laying on trunk lid) , both seat frames are there and added pics of dash. I did find a number between the valve covers at rear of engine:N584 and this AM I found a number right above the oil filter:M4715-8. I can see what might be a number in front of radiator (centered on radiator) but is too far gone to read. Hope this helps. On Feb-10-12 at 08:42:03 PST, seller added the following information: I'm told the engine number reportedly M4715-8 is probably W4715-8 and that would be correct for a 120.On Feb-10-12 at 10:28:27 PST, seller added the following information: Ok, I found the remnant of chassis numbers in front of radiator: I can make out the top of the first number which I think was a 6, the second number is clearly a 7, and the rest of the numbers are anyones guess. appears to be 5 or 6 numbers total.
