Vehicle Detail
1973 Mini Cooper S History:This car has been my dream car, and daily driver, for the past seven years. I bought it from a Mini restoration expert up in Canada about seven years ago, and have loved it ever since. The car was fully restored back when I purchased it, new paint, new tires, new interior, new everything. I then got it registered here in California, and have been driving her everyday since. It is a Canadian import model, so it is a left hand drive vehicle, yet all of the gauges are in kilometers. Makes me smile every time I get on the freeway and jam her up to 120 or 130 (kilometers of course, hehe)! Only selling my beautiful Mini because I have dreams of large trucks and used military vehicles, and I can't support both dreams at once. Hoping to find a cool person or family to enjoy the Mini next! I have literally driven this vehicle everyday, for over seven years. She may have her quirks, as any British car does, but she has been very reliable for me. I am confident she will treat her next owner with the same dedication. Features:I recently had the roof repainted, as the clear coat was coming up a little bit. I also took the opportunity to have the underbody repainted and recoated as well. Looks really, really sharp now! No real rust on this vehicle as well, which is a real plus. Been on the west coast all of it's life. The paint job overall has held up very, very nicely. It is a fun yellow with black on the outside (think bumble bee) with a black interior with yellow stripes on the inside. Turns a lot of heads and gets kids saying, "Look daddy, what's that cute little car?". It's a real cool power of the Mini that when people are pointing at you in your car (something that usually isn't good in your average vehicle) they are always doing so with a smile on their face, and kind words on their lips. I can not tell you how many impromptu in-the-parking-lot conversations this car has started! Car has a new battery as well, and starts right off the bat. When its cold you have to use the choke of course. She purrs right along, and the engine has never given me any difficulty. And she doesn't leak! I know, I know - how can she be a true British car you ask? Well, let's just say shes one of the good ones. I also had the front end rebuilt about a year ago - new wheel bearings, new shocks, replaced all of the old rubber, etc. She handles great, like a go cart on steroids. In addition I had a new muffler installed about two years ago. Great sound, and mounted very securely to the underside of the vehicle (important when you have such a tight suspension!). Has worked like a charm. 1275cc Straight 4 motorNew batteryNew paint on roof and undersideRecent front suspension rebuildRecent muffler replacementNew plugs and oil Condition:Overall the car is in great shape. As I mentioned, the vehicle had been completely restored about seven years ago, and has been well taken care of since then. I have had offers to enter her in shows and parades, but I've always been too busy. There are some things that will need attention, such as replacing the front tires soon. In addition the nice wooden dash is slightly cracked, and the wood covering the glove box needs replacing. All in all, pretty minor stuff.
