I’m offering for sale a 1973 VW Thing. I’m apparently the 3rd owner and the 2nd had the vehicle stored under a shed for several years. I have a copy of the original Florida title dated 10/09/73 that we had to send for a NC title to 2nd owner and then to me. So, the car has a clean NC title. These cars are fairly rare and I learned mine was one of only 20 something registered in NC. This Thing is pretty solid with usable floor pans that have a patch at battery under back seat. There have been repairs attempted on both side rockers and front end panel with more repair needed. Hinges on engine hatch need repair like all Things. I’m selling this Thing with top frame and window frames. New tops and windows are available from several sources including here on EBay. I also have rear bumper and left side back door that goes with it that are in good condition, but different color. This Thing starts, runs and operates and you are welcome to drive it around my property, it’s not tagged or insured. The speedometer works and shows 41428 miles which I believe to be actual.
