Vehicle Detail
1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer 102,411 miles (may have up to 104,430 by auction end, but probably not) Little Rock, Arkansas I bought this Wagoneer a couple years ago as a winter car and have driven it on a very limited basis. I thought I would have more time to appreciate this classic, and I’m probably going to miss it but need to rip the band aid off. I'm selling it AS IS and encourage bidders to view and drive the vehicle before bidding. I've tried to include any issues in the description but have likely missed something. I'm not a dealer nor mechanic but as you can see from my feedback, folks have been satisfied with my auctions. It is a really nice Wagoneer in my opinion. I don’t know a lot about the history of this Wagoneer. There are relatively few flaws, and it looks to me like it might have been restored or at least repainted several years ago because the paint/clear coat has good depth and is extremely shiny for a 20+ year old car. There are no faded spots, which seem typical of these. The interior looks nearly perfect to me. There are no rips or tears in the leather upholstery and the carpet looks brand new. Headliner is still tight. The dome/cargo lights don’t seem to work right now, but the dash and under dash lights do. I haven’t been able to figure that one out. All of the other electrical stuff, including the compass and exterior temperature gauge also function well but the original radio/tape deck has been working sporadically as of late. Also, the bottom of the interior door panel on the driver's side isn't clipped-in. The driver's side armrest seems to be missing a bolt, too. The sliding back glass still works well from the dash switch but does not from the tailgate key. It seems like it’s an easy fix but I try to avoid messing with anything electrical. Speaking of the back glass, I haven’t been able to tell if the rear defroster works and the rear wiper doesn’t seem to work. Again, probably easy fixes. All power windows work. The power seats also function. A/C and heater both work very well. Has tow package. As you probably know, this is a rare and collectible car. This 1989 model was included in the final generation of Grand Wagoneers. I’m very reluctant to sell it and know that I’ll regret it in a year, so I’m hoping someone will make a good home for it. It drives very well but when I bought it, I took it to my mechanic who told me that it would likely need an eventual overhaul if I planned on driving it a whole lot because of the lifters. I've never driven it furthur than 30 miles at a time, and usually my city driving never exceeded 10 miles at a time, so I never did need it. After driving it for a few minutes, I can begin to hear a faint rattling sound when I accelerate up hills or put stress on the engine. It also has a hose that leads from the oil fill spout that puffs a little smoke when warm. There is a bubbled spot of paint behind each of the rear tires(see last two pics.) There are also a couple little dings quarter-sized or smaller that I couldn't seem to get angles for pictures. I’ve never taken it off road but did drive it in the snow and can tell you that the on the fly four wheel drive works well for me. Has new-ish Michelin A/T tires with probably 80% tread left. It’s a very capable in inclimate weather. I don't want to misrepresent the Jeep at all, so please let me know if you have any questions or want additional or specific pictures. Will provide the clear Arkansas title and bill of sale within three days of full, cleared payment. I will not ship the vehicle, but will help to coordinate with the buyer if they arrange shipping. Located in Little Rock, Arkansas. Thanks for looking. Ben On Jan-12-12 at 06:27:00 PST, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention a couple things in the original descrpitions: On the grill, there are a couple spots towards the bull-nose that have worn through the aluminum. I used to think there might've been a canoe rope that rubbed there or something. They are a couple inches long and less than quarter inch wide. Not really noticable but I just remembered that. Also, I forgot to mention that there is an engine block heater. Lastly, when I bought the Jeep, the spare tire mounting hardware wasn't included, so the spare would need to ride in the cargo area.
