Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1984 Porsche 911. The car has a 3.2 engine, fuel injection. I'll attempt to describe it as accurately as I can, feel free to email if I miss out on anything you have questions about. I'm the third owner. I purchased it back in July of 2011. I've really enjoyed driving it, but I've decided to take on some major landscaping around my house soon, so I need a truck. I ran a Carfax back in July and it showed up clean showing only $380 below retail book value. There were no issues reported. Since I've owned it I've had the AC installed, seems to work fine, electrical wiring fixed and I've done a synthetic oil change. From the looks of things, I'd day this car has been garaged most of its life. It will come with a waterproof cover, too. Comes with 2 keys and a remote to lock the car and unlock the front hood. Exterior: It's had a respray, but it is the original color. It has a RS front and rear fiberglass bumper attached. The car shows terrific. It has some very minor scratches but no dings or rust. The front bumper has a slight wave where it meets up with the hood. Wheels: updated Porsche rims with Porsche crest caps. Tires have plenty of tread on them. Interior: Blue upholstery. One seam in the passenger seat has come undone, otherwise in good shape. New Kenwood CD player with I-Pod plug. New separate speakers in front, new speakers in rear of car. Dash is overall pretty good, one tiny crack in top right. Mechanics: Can runs great, fires right up. I've driven it to work and back on the highway 40 miles/day, it runs fine. The biggest issue is that 3rd gear has a slight crunch going in. If you shift it gently it goes in fine every time. Slam it in and it'll crunch. So, I'm guessing the syncs need replacing, I've had this estimated at $1000-$1500. I've also been told to try a different gear oil. The only other issue I have with the car is that the sunroof jammed just recently. You can still hear the sunroof engine working and it moves slightly, just won't open. Other minor issues are that it's a missing a piece of engine tin from the far left side of the engine compartment. It's just a small piece and this can be installed easily from my understanding. It also needs the top piece for the air cleaner, looks like the previous owner removed it probably thinking it would get better air pressure. My mechanic did a compression check and said the engine is running fine. Aside from that, I love this car and have had no problems. It gets a lot of great compliments. I've set the reserve price on this car at a reasonable amount. Please email if you have questions: tjcalver@yahoo.comIf you want to talk on the phone, I'm generally available after 5 pm.
