You are bidding on my Red 1998 AM General Hummer H1. This truck has been very good to me but as with any H1, it is a love hate relationship! I have owned it for over 3 years and would rather not sell but life changes on a dime so its gotta go! Red with gray interior and a black top, this H1 is mostly stock. The 6.5 Turbo Diesel was replaced by Nucar Hummer in Delaware back in 2001 as the 1999 and earlier model H1's with the 6.5 TD had a problem with the engine blocks cracking at the #8 cylinder. Nucar replaced the engine ( I have documentation) under warranty. The current engine runs great. Temps rarely get over 200 degrees in the summer (only on highway around town they stay under195) and stay below 185 in the winter. Oil pressure is always 40 and above. Transmission shifts strong and the Transfer case works flawlessly. Oil pressure is always 40 or above. Transmission temps sit about 160 in the summer. I installed an external Transmission Oil Filter which is visible in the Right Hand wheel well photo. I always run Stanadyne Performance additive in every tank of fuel. The body is in very good shape. Paint is clean with the typical nicks and dings associated with a truck at this mileage but really looks great. The black top is insulated and new, purchased from AM General last year. The bed is spray lined black. The interior is also clean with a few minor scuffs in the dog house and rear heater cover. The seats are in good shape, drivers seat has a small burn in it, nothing else. The under carriage show signs of mostly surface rust. there is no structural rust that I can find anywhere. The Main fuel tank shield is rusty and should be replaced eventually if you plan on off-roading. The exhaust is sound but there is a rattle in it somewhere that I have not located ( although I did not try too hard) The truck has the following options: Heated Windshields Factory Winch Undercarriage Protection Central Tire Inflation (CTIS) Rocker Protection There are power door locks, power windows and mirrors. There are a bunch of items I have replaced: Injection Pump was replaced a year ago with a rebuilt from D&W Diesel in Albany. Remote PMD installed with Dtech PMD and Nehogs harness. Black Top, rear curtain and rear bed cover are New Radiator was replaced this year with a take off which was boiled and checked. New Heater Core and HVAC block just installed New Oil Pressure Switch Thermostats replaced Fuel Pump replaced Air and Fuel Filter replaced as necessary Glow plugs and controller ( AC-60's Installed) replaced Vacuum pump replaced New CDR valve New starter Bendix installed New Front Shocks - 12K shocks installed New Front Upper New Front Lower ball joints Slotted rotors all around Turbo Wastegate Vacuum solenoid replaced Transmission Filter replaced and an External added Heater Blower Motor Replaced Geared Hubs flushed and filled with Synthetic oil There are a few known issues but nothing serious. They are: AC needs to be charged. I did the Heater core recently and never charged it. Left Front Hub seal Leaking ( I have spare just have not replaced) Truck needs two tires. One is about 35% the other less. Rear Brakes need to be done soon One of the Glow plug connectors was repaired with a simple crimped on connector. It works but should be changed. Rattle in the exhaust Two small "star" cracks in the windshield. They were there when I bought the truck and have not spread. There are the old mounting brackets to the original side steps still attached to the truck. They are oxidizing and should be removed. Driver side power window wire is loose and you sometimes have to swing the door slightly to close/open the window ( very common in H1's) Fuel tank shield should be replaced. Is rusty. Rattle in the exhaust The after market radio I installed developed a short in the face plate. CD Changer that is currently installed in the Dog house is garbage. That hole would make a nice map Pocket or storage bin! I have some misc. ball joints and things that come with it. Is this truck perfect.....hell no, its a 1998 with 106000 miles on it. It rattles and squeaks and has a few dings but it starts every time and just keeps rolling. It is a solid truck in very good shape! I am asking $26995 which is a GREAT PRICE for this condition 1998.
