Vehicle Detail
1971 International Travelall 1110 4WD My brother-in-law drove this from San Diego to Virginia in September. He bought it and a 1975 FJ-40 and has decided to sell his International to finish restoring the FJ-40. I am listing it for him since he is currently working out of state. It had been a Utah/California vehicle till September 2011. Details: West Coast Vehicle The odometer reads 71,400. 392 V-8 rebuilt 11k miles ago 3-speed Automatic Transmission 4 barrel Edelbrock Carb Power Steering A/C lines in place but the compressor is not installed. Dual exhaust with glass packs Dual Gas tanks When the engine was rebuilt the transmission, radiator, muffler and tailpipes were replaced. It starts up easy, but does blow out smoke when initially started. The truck is very comfortable to drive. It brakes well considering it has drum brakes all the way around. (It does pull a little to one side) Could be adjusted fairly easily. Cruises on the highway very comfortably at 55mph. You could drive it anywhere. Engine/Transmission: The engine runs/idles very smoothly. It is actually a very quiet engine. (Engine does have some oil leaks) The Transmission shifts smoothly and properly. (Transfer case is leaking a little) 4 X 4 works great and it shifts between 2H - 4H - N - 4L well. Body/Frame: Repainted White by previous owner white a few years ago (imperfections here and there) Some surface rust at passenger side rocker panel (see video) Rusted badly at top of rear window. (see video) Floors and bed are in great condition Frame is in great condition Interior: Dash has a couple large cracks Headliner is original and in good condition Original and working AM radio Rear power window still works from both the inside and out. All windows crank up and down All glass is in good shape (no cracks) Recently replaced: in the last 3 months: New heater lines (Heat works) Replaced belts Fuel lines Master cylinder/brake booster Fuel pump/fuel filter Battery Alternator/voltage regulator Air filter and oil change Wheels/Tires: Tires have about 1/4" tread left 16" American Racing wheels The bad: Some small spots of surface rust. (It is an International) Has small oil leak Drivers side door needs lock assembly (locks from the inside but cannot be unlocked from the outside) Door seals and rear window seals are original and should be replaced Fuel gauge does not work properly (both tanks are good as well as the selector valve. The instrument light behind the speedometer is out and needs to be replaced Rear seat is slightly discolored with a few small rips in the upholstery Tint on rear windows is fading and has some small scratches in it. Though it is not a perfect, it is in great shape and is the nicest one I have personally seen. If you would like any other pictures or info that are not listed here email me or call me. On Dec-16-11 at 06:31:35 PST, seller added the following information: UPDATE: I have had questions regarding the engine rebuild, 4 barrel carb, gas tank capacity, rust and MPG. Please see the extra pictures I have uploaded to the Picasa link. You will find the previous owners memo pad which records his maintenance since 1985. Note the engine was "new" in 2002. I am guessing that "new" really means rebuilt. Also, regarding Mileage you will see from the pictures that the odometer has obviously rolled over. In 1985 the odometer read 108,000... In 2002 the engine was rebuilt at 60,440 or (160,440) and it now reads 71,500 or (171,500) just over 11,000 miles on the rebuilt engine now. I was also asked: PLEASE EXPLAIN;NICEEST ONE I HAVE SEEN" HOW MANY HAVE YOU SEEN? PLEASE SEND CLOSE UP PICTURE OF RUST AREAS, CAN YOU VERIFY MILEAGE FIGURES? THANNKS, DON My Answer: I have seen only a few 1971 Travelall's in my lifetime. I owned 1977 International Scout II for 10 years and currently own a 1971 Scout 800b. Both of mine had considerable rust. This one is the exception to those and the other Internationals I have looked at. I will try to upload some more pictures to the Picasa link today. Regarding the mileage, I have added pictures of the previous owners memo pad in which he recorded all of the work he has done to it since 1985.
