Here for your consideration is an original and rare unrestored MG Magnette ZB Varitone..it left the Abingdon factory on Dec 4th 1958..making it one of the very last of these cars to be produced..I believe approx 18,525 of the 'varitone' option (available from 1957) model were made.. the differences from standard 'ZB' model being a larger rear window and a chrome strip along the waist of the car allowing 2 tone paint ..although this one still has its original singular 'Island green' cellulose paint .. this is a 'project'..unused for many decades ..and will consequentlky need fiull restoration..but..a very nice car to begine with as, being an umolested original, you can see the actual condition of the car very clearly .. it comes with a clear current DMV title ( its on 'non op' status) and a 'Heritage certificate' which records the cars specifications when built.. (it remains the same ..minus 'whitewall' tires) the car is very sound and solid with the exception of the floors ..all of which are thin (and have some holes) due to beinmg left outside for decades with the carpets and jute underlay in place ..the trunk floor also needs some metal work ..however..normal area's that corrode in less then kind climates are all in excellent condition ..hte cars structure is all spound ..the rockers both inner and outer are free of corrosion.. there is evidence of a minor ding (non structural) on the right front, with paint 'spotted in' to the right of the grill and some bondo present in the hood panel under this repair .... the lower front fenders and doors like rest fo car have original paint and are free of corrosion ..the chromework is bright and solid..the interior is original and in very poor condition..all the leather cracked and dry..no attempt has been made to start the car, but the engine turns freely ..recorded mileage (under 100,000) believed original .. parts availabilty for these cars is very good ..ALL of the repair panels this car requires (which can also be easily fabricated by a competant metal man ) are avilable from specialists in UK. a $500 paypal deposit required within 48 hours of auction end .. bidders with less then 10 positive transactions contcat me before bidding..or your bid will be cancelled ..thank you..and good luck with your bids .On Jan-05-12 at 08:51:19 PST, seller added the following information: I have been informed the production numbers I stated are incorrect :- 18,524 ZB' Magnette's were produced in total ..of which 7,803 were the 'Varitone' option...I dont know the number of survivors ..but there is a registry for both USA and UK ...
