Vehicle Detail

Hello everyone, thanks for looking at this 2004 Ford F150 Lariat. Highlight of Features Since this is the Lariat, it is equipped very nicely. It has: -heated leather front seats (the driver's seat is power adjustable with a manual reclining bar and memory seat position buttons) -power adjustable pedals -steering wheel controls for temperature, fan speed., volume, and radio station -power sliding rear window -rear passenger windows which roll all the way down (which I know is rare in extended cab pickups) -rear back-up sensors (which are actually pretty annoying if you leave them turned on) -stock in-dash 6 disc CD changer, just to name a few of the highlights -tube style chrome running boards with durable plastic on top The truck has the 5.4 Triton V8 engine, and trust me it has full power (rated at 300 horsepower and 330 lb ft of torque) especially when it is kicking it in 4x4. It also has a hitch, class III I believe with a Ford hitch cover I bought for it. In the bed, it has a spray-in Line-X Bedliner ($300-400 value and on top it has an Access brand tonneau cover (a $350 value) which is made out of durable material and has metal tubing which appear to be decently strong. About the Vehicle The vehicle has a clean title. I encourage you to look at the E-Bay provided AutoCheck. From this, you can see that this is an accident-free truck and I am the third owner. I have had it less than a year and I love the truck, but I need something smaller. The former owner (who left his business cards in the truck and the dealer forgot to take them out) was allegedly a landscape contractor BUT that does NOT mean this truck was used and abused by him hauling around his supplies. Instead, it looks like he used it to impress people who he did quotes for. And that's the cool thing about this truck- it looks AMAZING for having 211,xxx miles; it is the cleanest inside and out you might ever find. I am pretty sure the previous owner garaged this truck all the time because it has no dents (ok, maybe one slight ding on the tailgate), only one minor scratch, and best of all NO body rust whatsoever (even being a Minnesota truck). I have really only used the bed a few times to move a few friends stuff around so I am listing it. In the past few months I personally have done the following repairs/maintenance: -All New Brake Pads -All New Brake Rotors -All New Brake Calipers (Unbelievably the original were cracked!) -Obviously Brake Fluid goes along with new calipers -Fuel Filter -New rear axle seals (had been leaking) -New rear differential fluid/gear oil, cleaned gears -Regular Oil Changes with Ford Motorcraft Oil and Filters -Added Lucas Anti-Slip Transmission fluid to replace a slight amount that was low (but not dripping) -Cleaned the connections on the hitch -Lubricated Chassis -Re-finished fog lights with new hardware which had bulbs that had shorted, and the metallic finish was chipping. -Cleaned the throttle body -Cleaned Mass Air Flow Sensor -Painted differential cover with a metallic-y finish to give it a chromed look. There was one thing I left up to the Ford Dealership which was the spark plugs (all 8, which are now the new 1 piece Ford Motorcraft design with anti-seize lubricant on the threads). This engine is known to have a problem with it's plugs. The original design of the plug is a two-piece design which breaks off if it is seized in the header and then you find out the hard way like I did and have to have it towed to the dealership. So if you're shopping for any Ford with the 5.4 be aware that this is a common problem and that my truck has had it corrected which at the dealership is considered a tune-up and costs about $900 which is what I paid. There are a few things I should mention though... -the keyless entry works, but I do not have a remote, nor do I know the door code. I have heard there is a way to reset the door code. I also heard a new remote would cost about $20-30 -two small dings in the windshield on the passenger side- nothing to be concerned about. Just make sure they don't spider. -It needs new lower ball joints- they rattle currently over bumps. -The front right bearing or axle seal may need to be replaced -Airbag light is on. I have read about this and there is a code that flashes. This one indicates it needs a new driver's side airbag sensor or that the current one needs to be cleaned. -Might need new tires soon -There is a ticking or clicking sound in the engine. It makes it sound like a Diesel engine when it's running. This another common issue and is caused by something called a Cam Phaser. To me, it is mostly just an annoying sound. I have read up on it and wasn't too concerned. People have driven 100,000+ miles with it and report no problems because of it. If you want to read more about it here is a link to the Ford Technical Service Bulletin: http://www.stangnet.com/images/stories/docs/s197_TSBs/06-19-08.pdf I am not a mechanic, just slightly mechanically inclined. I do not know the actual condition of the truck, I am just reporting what I do know. Overall though, it runs smoothly and strong. The 5.4 is like a rocket engine even in such a big vehicle. I personally would drive it a few hundred miles on a road trip if I had to but that of course is no guarantee, because I can't put a warranty on it. As it is my daily driver, I also drive about 100+ miles between my place and my parent's house every other weekend in it and haven't been stranded. On the contrary, if I drive it slow and in the best conditions I have had 19 or 20 miles to the gallon on the highway, where it runs super smoothly! (See pictures for proof) I have both bought and sold on Ebay before so I know the process and I have been as honest as possible. I don't want to sell anyone a piece of garbage so I described all of the issues I know about. If you have any questions, feel free to message me. I am very good at replying and would be happy to talk with you, set up a time to see it, or have it inspected if you live close. I am in Mankato, MN right now but when the auction closes I will have the truck near St. Paul, MN for you to pick up. If you are far away and happen to fly in, we can arrange to meet at the airport or for you to pick it up in the Twin Cities. I can bring it within 50 miles of the Twin Cities for free delivery. DO NOT BID IF IT SAYS YOU ARE FROM OUTSIDE OF THE U.S.On Jan-04-12 at 14:09:01 PST, seller added the following information: Update: I lubricated the front bearing/hub assembly which I previously thought needed to be replaced and it stopped making noise. Perhaps this means it will be ok for longer. -David
