Great looking vehicle. Great in snow. New brakes. Just bought this a few weeks ago from a family member. Put new front brakes on it and drove it for a few days before it developed a knock. Everything seems to point to a rod going out, which means the engine will have to be replaced or rebuilt. Although it does run and drive well, there is no telling when the engine knock could develop into something much worse; therefore, I am selling it as-is and will not let it leave the property under its own power because I don't want the new owner to end up stranded on the side of the road in sub-zero weather with a blown engine. The other mechanical gremlin is related to the front power windows: they don't go up or down easily (they are up now & I'm not going to risk putting them down at this point). After many hours spent searching posts in various Jeep forums, it appears that the window issue is a fairly simple fix. So, THIS VEHICLE WILL HAVE TO BE TOWED OR TRAILERED TO ITS NEW HOME. The good news is that this Grand Cherokee will make someone a very nice vehicle after a few repairs. The body is in great shape, the stereo is nice, and the leather seats are very comfortable.
