Vehicle Detail
I bought this car in February of 2010 for my son. It had 197,000 miles at the time and now has roughly 206,000. Although it runs, there are several problems that I will detail below - as well as the repairs that I have made since purchase. I would describe the overall condition as rough. Problems: · Missing grill piece (as seen in the photo) · Various scratches, chips, & dings (as seen in the photos, none of these are major) · Small power steering leak - THis is due to my replacement of the power steering pump with an incorrect inlet location. I tried to modify the hose to adapt and it leaks slightly. · CCV - I replaced this with an aftermarket unit (as they are $200+ from the dealer) and it passed oil into the intake, so I have it bypassed to a make-shift catch can. · Fog light is missing and the lower front bumper has some damage. This was from my son catching the bumper on the side of the garage while backing out. I simply pushed the bumper back in place. · The top is in need of replacement. Although it looks ok, the rear window is no longer transparent due to age. · It pops out of first gear - this is a common problem in the Getrag transmissions of this era. The best way to fix this is replace the transmission with another used one. However, it does drive this way. You have to hold the shifter in gear and it will just make a pop and then go. · The door panels need to be rebuilt and one of the rear passenger trip pieces is missing (in photos) · The ck engine, air bag, & brake pad lights are on. I've not done anything with the engine or air bag lights. However, I know brake pad light is due to sensor problmes. The pads are good as I have replaced the brakes and rotors. · The seat heaters do not work · It has an aftermarket radio Since purchase, I have completed the following repairs: · I've replaced the front suspension and much of the rear including: Lower control arms, control arm bushings, inner & outer tie rods, stabilizer bushings, struts, rear control arm bushings, rear stabilizer boshings, rear shocks, and rear springs. The struts and springs are Rokkor adjustable and the car is lowered about 1.5-2". It can be raised up to stock without too much effort. · I've replaced the steering rack with a rebuilt unit. · I replaced the front brakes and turned the rotors. · I replaced the rear rotors with new ones (these are the expensive heavy duty Brembo's) - the rear pads did not need replacement · I put new Kumho tires on it - 245/45/17 · After a few months of driving, my son overheated it (which is common) and I had to replace the head gasket, repair the head, valve job, new water pump, new fan clutch, fan shroud, and thermostat, The water pump was the cause of all of this. · I replaced the battery · I’ve replaced the window slides · Recently it started leaking coolant and i replaced the heater hose inlet (cracked), the overflow tank, and cap. I’ve test driven it since and it does not leak. If you have any questions, please ask. I will expect a $75 deposit from the winning bidder within 48 hours of end. I have relisted this vehicle because the previous buyer was not aware of the item location being NEWBURGH, INDIANA (47630).
