In the hills, both S-classers drive alike — same moderate body roll, same understeer, same aloof and steely persona. Not hugely involving. In a straight line, though, they're as different as Warren Harding and Warren Beatty. The CL600 blasts to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds. Know what that means? To 60 mph, this 2.5-ton Teuton is quicker than: 1. A Porsche 911 Carrera S. 2. A Chevrolet Corvette convertible. 3. A Ferrari 612 Scaglietti F1. The CL600 whooshes through the quarter-mile in 12.6 seconds, same as a Lamborghini Murciélago. This big Benz's twin-turbo V-12 manufactures 612 pound-feet of torque as low as 1800 rpm. We once nailed the throttle just as Colwell tried to open the glove box. His arms flailed and thrashed at cabin air, and it wasn't until the Benz had attained another 60 or so digits that he was able to lean far enough forward to effect any dashboard operations. Our shark-gray Merc asked for only 2.7 seconds to transform 50 mph into 70 mph. On two-lane highways, we learned not to floor the throttle until we were in the passing lane. Otherwise, this heavy destroyer was too likely to ram whoever was being overtaken. Here's something else that'll amuse and panic your passengers: Set the Distronic Plus proximity cruise control for 120 mph while following, say, a dawdling Ford F-150, then lift your foot completely off the gas. Later, when you pull out to pass, the S600 will automatically proceed to a buck-twenty entirely on its own, as if possessed by the ghost of René Dreyfus, and no red lights or Klaxons or legal warnings will so much as suggest themselves. All of this is accompanied by neither turbo lag nor vibration nor exhaust roar. At every driver swap, we had to glance at the tach to tell whether the V-12 was even reciprocating. Our "base" CL600 was fitted with all the electronics known to German engineers and a few known only to Homeland Security, and the desirable active body control that cost $3900 on the S550 is here standard. Not to mention brake lights that flash furiously during panic stops and a right-rear seat with eight power comfort adjustments, plus a ninth that automatically slides the right-front seat forward to keep it clear of one's costly monkey-paw loafers, and pneumatic bolsters that stiffen during cornering so you don't have to expend any unnecessary energy holding your own torso erect, God forbid. Did we mention that, during a 70-mph panic stop, the S600 requires only 12 more inches of tarmac than a Mazda RX-8? Compared with the Rolls, this Mercedes resembles some sort of J.C. Penney "Discount Daze" bargain. For the price of our Phantom, you could buy an S600, all seven sedans in last month's "Cheap Skates" comparo, and more than 14 months' worth of luxury lodging at the Drake in Chicago. After which, the parking valets will likely give you one of their handmade Russian Army coats, which, we are here to tell you, affect women in a warm and memorable way. Last February, we called the CL550 "the best CL-class ever," but now the CL600 is the best CL-class ever, soon to be challenged by an CL65 AMG that will surely be more potent, "maybe" making it the best CL-class ever, causing some of us to ask, "Why?" This car is already all arrogance and attitude, and every vehicle impeding its progress evokes that German descriptor "Backpfeifengesicht," which means "the face that cries out for a fist in it." All we can tell you is that the CL600 feels like the most luxury, comfort, style, speed, subtlety, and glory ever to attach itself to the three-pointed star of Sindelfingen, and you can quote us on that. For a few months, anyway 2008 Mercedes-Ben CL600 - Road Test The strong, silent type. The best way we can think of to spend the kids' inheritance. BY BARRY WINFIELD, PHOTOGRAPHY BY MORGAN SEGAL June 2007 The 2008 Mercedes CL600 is so determined to reach the horizon when you step on its accelerator that it barely pauses for breath. Automatic gearshifts pop off one after another, but the onward rush is hardly interrupted. From the moment the car lunges away from rest with a sharp squeal of rear wheel spin until the 130-mph speed limiter gently restrains its charge, the CL rushes forward on an unstoppable tide of torque.Passengers in the rear seat will gasp in astonishment at the sustained acceleration, and with good reason. The 5.5-liter twin-turbo V-12 produces 612 pound-feet of twist from a mere 1800 rpm and sustains that level to 3500 rpm. So each of the five gears provides relentless thrust throughout its range. When driven in this somewhat extravagant manner — with both BorgWarner turbochargers blowing a 14.5-psi kiss of life to their respective cylinder banks — the 4800-pound CL600 will reach 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds. The quarter-mile marker blurs by at 113 mph in a brief 12.8 seconds, and that's just 0.2 second behind the fabulous new Audi R8 mid-engined supercar. This tells you in no uncertain terms that gargantuan forces are at work in the transmission tunnel and that these should be treated with respect. Not just because of the huge potential this car possesses for mischief in the wrong hands but also because of an absence of the usual clues relating to high speed.Sure, the car's acceleration impresses itself on the mind by sheer physical force, but once high speeds have been attained, there's little noise from the drivetrain, tires, or wind passing by to alert you to the massive momentum on hand. New owners will need to get used to this feeling or suffer the inevitable consequences — numerous traffic citations or possibly financial impacts of a more physical nature. It's probably a good thing, then, that this new flagship coupe introduces the Pre-Safe brake system. As its title suggests, this is a system that utilizes the range-finding capabilities of the Distronic Plus active-cruise radar to foresee closing speeds likely to result in a collision and then cancels the throttle and applies the brakes at up to 40 percent of maximum pressure. Numerous accident studies have shown that an early response to a recognized hazard greatly reduces the intensity of the collision. Since electronic devices are ever vigilant and their responses super-fast, this intervention is undoubtedly welcome. For anyone who gets nervous at the idea of autonomous braking in a vehicle, we can testify that nothing peculiar happened while we drove the car. With its historical record of safety achievements, Mercedes is not likely to introduce technology that would have the car braking hard in the fast lane of a freeway for no good reason.Speaking of safety devices, the CL600 is loaded with them. There are nine airbags for four people, along with all the usual vehicle-dynamic watchdogs such as ABS and ESP, plus an infrared night-vision system displayed on the large speedometer dial.Whereas the other instruments have real needles, the speedometer is just an image of an analog gauge and can thus double as a message center and night-vision display. It's a high-tech solution masquerading as an old-fashioned instrument, but it matches the rest of the dashboard, which includes a small square analog clock, and is pretty convincing to boot. Like the gauge cluster, the car's interior is a blend of new and established techniques. Leather — lots of it — embraces the seats and the headliner. Or is that headliner Alcantara? Whatever, it's pretty cool, with neat stitching and tidy pleats. The leather is set off with high-quality moldings and chestnut or burled-walnut trim used sparingly in a stylish flourish. There's plenty of space up front for the driver and passenger, both of whom are cosseted by seats that adjust in every way imaginable and offer four-level massages, too. The rear seats, although equally handsome, offer less space and should be reserved for cranky in-lawsConsidering how many mechanisms have to be controlled from the cockpit, we find that this latest version of Benz's COMAND interface is more-or-less intuitive to the computer-savvy driver. But there were a few functions that would have most people diving for the owner's manual, among them the control of the adjustable lumbar support and shoulder bolsters, which can also be set in active mode to firm up in corners. We found the constant nudging to be annoying, so we had to locate the button that accesses that specific set of controls and then experiment with the options until the damn thing stopped.Of course, this elaborate complement of equipment and creature comforts comes at a price: nearly 150 grand on the sticker, and 4300 pounds on the scales. Not that this car's intended customers would feel either manifestation much. Mercedes-Benz's ABC suspension technology puts hydraulic rams at each of the four coil springs, providing active spring-preload control. In this way, ABC can alter roll stiffness as well as fore-and-aft spring rates for pitch control and automatic ride leveling. The result is a big car — this is the S-class platform, after all — with unexpected nimbleness in every environment. There's limited compromise to ride comfort, too, since ABC only responds when needed. So the CL600 tools around suburbia with suave composure, feeling like a much smaller car. The typical Mercedes tight turning circle (38.1 feet) helps shrink one's sense of the car's size appreciably in urban environments, where you can make U-turns more easily than you can in a supercharged Chevy Cobalt SS. Plus, the big Benz will run Angeles Crest at speed in a taut and controlled fashion. But physics can't be entirely ignored, and the CL did not turn in with quite the surgical precision its disciplined ride motions led us to expect. We found ourselves running a little off-line at corner entry on occasion, and it probably had nothing to do with deficient steering communication. Steering feel and the driver's sense of involvement are actually quite good for a car this big and isolated. In summary, we'd have to conclude that the CL600's blend of virtues far outweighs the few shortcomings and that its astonishing performance overkill will probably awe and delight the lucky few who can afford this Benz bolide. Whether anyone really needs this much mass and muscle in a mere coupe is a question we'll leave for you to answer.Continued... KEVIN DUKE Everything about this car is effortless. It accelerates as forcefully at 60 mph as it does at 30, with hand-of-god turbo thrust that is unnatural yet regal. Response from the boosted V-12 is appropriately creamy, and there's as much precision in its HVAC ports as in the engines of lesser cars. It's the perfect perch from which to frown upon the proles in their lowly C-class sedans, which seem like Camrys from the massaging-air-bladder throne of the imperial CL. Highs, Lows, and Verdict Highs: Sublime refinement, mind-boggling acceleration, all the gadgets. Lows: Thel bill. The Verdict: A nearly perfect combination of comfort and performance. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Night view assist: even better visibility at night (Daimler AG) Copyright Daimler. These objects may not be copied for commercial use or distribution, nor may these objects be modified or reposted to Web sites. © 2008 Daimler AG. All rights reserved. Mercedes-Benz has developed the night view assist system to improve driving safety even further, especially during the hours of darkness. This increases the driver’s range of visibility to up to 200 metres to reduce his workload when driving at night. This means that the system provides roughly the same range of visibility as high beam headlamps – but without dazzling oncoming traffic. Night view assist, which celebrated its debut in the S-Class in autumn 2005 and is also available for the CL Coupé, features two additional, infrared headlamps. Their light is invisible to the human eye, and therefore does not dazzle oncoming drivers. An infrared-sensitive camera on the inside of the windscreen shows the scene ahead of the vehicle on a display in the instrument cluster of the luxury Coupé, enabling road signs, pedestrians, cyclists, debris or other obstacles in the road to be identified much sooner. When night view assist is active, the infrared headlamps are automatically switched on when a speed of 15 km/h is reached and remain on when braking down to about 10 km/h. As soon as night view assist is activated, the display in the centre of the instrument cluster switches over to show the camera image. The large eight-inch display is directly in the driver’s field of vision, and provides a clear greyscale image of the road ahead. The driver is able to glance down at the infrared image regularly, monitor the situation ahead of the vehicle and adapt his style of driving accordingly. Up to 125 percent increase in safety Mercedes engineers have examined the capabilities of this technology in a series of practical trials. During comparative test drives with low-beam bi-xenon headlamps and the new night view assist system, male and female test drivers recognised obstacles in the road much sooner when assisted by the infrared light system. During tests, drivers were already able to discern test dummies at the roadside dressed in light-coloured clothing at a range of around 210 metres, which is about 41 metres sooner than with low-beam bi-xenon headlamps. The system proves even more effective in the case of pedestrians in dark clothing. In these situations the night view assist system already enabled the drivers to identify the test dummies at a range of around 164 metres, compared with only at about 72 metres when driving with low-beam bi-xenon headlamps alone. This represents a safety improvement of no less than 125 percent. Even when the headlamps of oncoming vehicles dazzle the driver and severely obscure the view, visibility is much better with this assistance system: a test dummy in light-coloured clothing standing at the road edge 50 metres behind an oncoming vehicle was detected from an average distance of 140 metres with the help of night view assist – around 53 metres sooner than with low-beam bi-xenon headlamps. The state-of-the-art CMOS sensor (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) and the infrared camera specially developed for Mercedes-Benz are able to reduce dazzle by electronic means, while enhancing the rest of the image to ensure that even smaller details are easily recognised. Important contribution to safer driving in the dark Night view assist is able to contribute greatly to improved road safety, as accident analyses carried out by Mercedes-Benz have confirmed: on the basis of data obtained from a joint accident research project conducted by German vehicle manufacturers and the federal office for roads and traffic, specialists at Mercedes-Benz analysed accidents occurring during the hours of darkness and found that the night view assist system has a very high safety potential. The risk of serious injury in road traffic is much greater in twilight and in the dark than during daylight hours. Collisions at night are predominantly driver-induced accidents during which drivers lose control of their vehicles – often because they have not recognised the course of the road soon enough in the dark, and failed to adjust their speed. As a result around half of the vehicles in question leave the road, while more than one quarter collides with oncoming traffic. Night view assist can also help to improve the safety of pedestrians. According to German accident statistics, more than 55 percent of fatal accidents involving pedestrians occur in twilight or at night. ----------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------- MERCEDES-BENZ WINS BEST OF WHAT’S NEW CAR AWARD by Mercedes-Benz PR tags: luxury sedan mercedes-benz mercedes-benz s-class Popular Science Honors the 2007 S-Class With Top Automotive Award NEW YORK, NY – Mercedes-Benz garnered the automotive “Best of What’s New” award today from Popular Science, the oldest and best-known science and technology magazine in the U.S. The all-new Mercedes-Benz 2007 S-Class sedan is the grand award winner for cars, one of 12 categories covering 100 winners. Mark Jannot, editor-in-chief of Popular Science, said, “Best of What’s New is the ultimate Popular Science accolade, representing a year’s worth of work evaluating thousands of products. These awards honor innovations that not only influence the way we live today, but that also change the way we think about the future.” Each year, the editors of Popular Science review thousands of new products in search of the top 100 tech innovations of the year – breakthrough products and technologies that represent a significant leap in their categories. The winners – the Best of What’s New – are awarded inclusion in the much-anticipated December issue of Popular Science, the most widely read issue of the year since the debut of Best of What’s New in 1987. Best of What’s New awards are presented to 100 new products and technologies in 12 categories: Auto Tech, Aviation & Space, Cars, Computing, Engineering, Gadgets, General Innovation, Home Entertainment, Home Tech, Personal Health, Photography and Recreation. The Mercedes-Benz Flagship The successor to a long line of premium luxury vehicles, the 2007 S-Class sedan will arrive in the U.S. in early 2006 with a significantly evolved design and a new-generation 5.5-liter V8 engine delivering 382 horsepower. The “S” designation has long been used to identify top-of-the-line Mercedes-Benz cars, and the S-Class has embodied the brand’s flagship role for more than five decades. The S-Class is a technological showcase that has pioneered significant safety and comfort features for the entire auto industry, including the first ABS anti-lock brakes, the first ESP stability control and the first PRE-SAFE system. New Distronic Plus Helps in Stop-and-Go Traffic The well-known Distronic cruise control feature that maintains a pre-set distance behind the vehicle ahead is replaced by an optional “Distronic Plus” system. Integrated with the latest PRE-SAFE, the radar-based system operates at nearly all speeds up to 125 mph and can be especially helpful in stop-and-go traffic. Brake Assist Plus Can Reduce Rear Collisions by 75 Percent Making its debut on the new S-Class, an optional enhanced version of Mercedes-Benz Brake Assist not only supplies full-power braking in emergency braking situations as soon as the driver applies the brake pedal, but also monitors the distance to the vehicle ahead and adjusts brake pressure if the driver doesn’t brake hard enough. While conventional Brake Assist is only triggered by the driver’s reflex reaction on the brake pedal, Brake Assist Plus also considers the closing speed of the vehicle ahead based on radar signals from Distronic Plus. In tests conducted by Mercedes researchers using 300 drivers, the new integrated system reduced rear collisions in heavy traffic by 75 percent. Infra-Red Vision Increases Night Visibility Another innovative technology making its debut on the 2007 S-Class is Night View Assist, a new option that can extend the driver’s ability to see the road ahead to nearly 500 feet. An industry first, and in contrast to other passive systems, this active system bathes the road ahead with infra-red light from two projectors mounted in the headlight assemblies. An infra-red camera discreetly mounted in the windshield receives the reflected images and displays them on a high-resolution instrument cluster screen.-------------------------------- ------------------------------------ December arrival for first vehicle fitted with DISTRONIC PLUS 15 September, 2006 Cementing S-Class as the leader in safety technology Melbourne– Following on from the sales success of Night View Assist, Mercedes-Benz has announced that the first S-Class sedans equipped with DISTRONIC PLUS will arrive in early December. The Managing director of Mercedes Car Group, Horst von Sanden has welcomed the final certification of DISTRONIC PLUS by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA). “The frequency that DISTRONIC PLUS operates on (24GHz) has required a change to the Federal radio frequencies legislation. The use of an ultra wide bandwidth ensures a significant level of accuracy allowing the system to deliver unparalleled detail recognition. “Mercedes-Benz is very proud that we are now able to make DISTRONIC PLUS available on the S-Class (making it the most affordable adaptive cruise control in the segment at $3,900) that the way is now clear for other manufacturers to introduce similar systems due to our effort in gaining certification on this frequency” von Sanden said. “The first CL-Class equipped with DISTRONIC PLUS will arrive in December and it will complement our popular and applauded Night View Assist that uses the latest infra red technology in place of the older thermal imaging systems available. The uptake of Night View Assist has been around a third of S-Class buyers and we expect a similar level of uptake with DISTRONIC PLUS,” von Sanden said. ---------------------------------------- Top Story The Technology of the V12 Engine for the Mercedes/Maybach/AMG October 18, 2002: Power, smoothness, durability , the qualities of the legendary Maybach engine of 1929 were again the key concerns during the development of the new "Type 12" engine, which entered into standard production this autumn as the "heart" of the new highend limousine. 5.5 litres displacement, twin turbochargers, a peak output of 405 kW/550 bhp and a peak torque of 900 Nm, these are the vital statistics of this unit, which has a higher power output and develops more torque than any other series-production passenger car engine in the world. This impressive picture is completed by smoothness and outstanding vibrational behaviour. These qualities are inherent design features of the new V12 engine: the V-angle of 60 degrees balances inertia forces and moments at source, without the need for special balancer shafts. The modern "bedplate" design makes another major contribution to particularly smooth, lownoise operation: the "bedplate" consists of an luminium plate with integral cast iron bearing brackets on the main crankshaft bearings for additional rigidity. This effectively reduces longitudinal vibrations in the engine block. In addition, the sump has been isolated from the crankcase as a vibration-reducing measure. The crankcase of the new "Type 12" engine is of die cast aluminium, while the two cylinder head covers are of die cast magnesium and the cylinder liners are made from a lightweight, low-friction aluminium-silicon alloy which allows a weight-saving of approx. 500 grams per cylinder versus conventional cast iron liners. Other lightweight components of the twelve-cylinder engine include fracture-split conrods made from high-strength, forged-steel alloys; oil-spray cooled pistons made from a highquality aluminium alloy; hollow camshafts of induction hardened, forged steel; a weight-optimised, forged steel crankshaft and a sump of die cast aluminium. Thanks to this advanced lightweight design, the power unit tips the scales at just 270 kilograms, achieving a power to weight ratio of 0.66 kg/kW. A camshaft in each of the two banks of cylinders controls the three valves per cylinder via lowfriction roller-type cam followers. Each valve has a cam follower and is adjusted hydraulically. The three-valve technology reduces thermal losses at the exhaust stage and speeds catalytic converter warm-up after a cold start. In conjunction with two large ceramic catalytic converters positioned close to the engine, this has a decisive influence on ensuring that the new Maybach reliably complies with the strict EU-4 limits. Emissions are controlled by two catalytic converters which are arranged close to the engine and each contain two ceramic monoliths. The two intake valves per cylinder have a diameter of 31 millimetres, hile the sodium-cooled exhaust valve measures 33 millimetres. The developers of the Type 12 engine were able to dispense with the camshaft adjustment system. The twin turbochargers aspirate the twelve-cylinder efficiently. Expressed in figures: 622 Nm of torque are already on tap at 1500 rpm, the 800 Nm mark is reached at 1800 rpm and from 2300 rpm the power unit generates its torque of 900 Nm, a figure which is unique among series-production passenger cars. It maintains this up to 3000 rpm. The V12 engine's maximum output of 405 kW/550 bhp is available at 5250 rpm. The positioning of the twin turbocharger turbines in the exhaust manifold maximises their efficiency. A wastegate control system enables the flow of exhaust gases to the turbines to be matched to the current operating point of the engine. Wastegate valves are integrated into each turbocharger and operate electro-pneumatically. The compressed air flows from the turbochargers through two engine-mounted watercooled intercoolers located on the cylinder head covers. Depending on the engine load, the air is cooled here by up to 100 C. The water-intercoolers are part of a special low-temperature circuit. A demand-controlled, electric circulation pump transfers the heat between the water-intercoolers and the low-temperature cooler located in front of the engine, which passes the heat from the water to the cooling air. A microprocessor controls all engine functions, making use of various additional sensor data to control the two turbochargers: Pressure and temperature sensors in the charge air distributor are used to calculate the intake air mass. A sensor in front of the throttle valve adjusting motor registers the charge pressure. Sensors upstream and downstream of the air filter monitor the pressure on the clean air side so that the speed of the turbochargers can always be adjusted to suit the situation. In addition, the engine computer controls an advanced alternating current twin-spark ignition system whose feature is constant ionic current measurement at the spark plugs. This recognises any misfires and therefore has a major role in protecting the catalytic converters. Should the ionic current fall below a certain value, the fuel injection for the cylinder concerned is automatically interrupted at once. Ionic current measurement is supplemented with torsional vibration analysis at the crankshaft. By combining both control signals in this way, the developers of the Type 12 engine have achieved an unprecedented degree of accuracy in the detection of misfires right across the entire load and engine speed range. This amazing engine is also the same engine found in the Mercedes 600 series V12's and AMG SL/CL 65 series. but with some even heavier duty parts. For example the designo mystic paint finishes are unusually intense with an extreme depth. Regardless of the colour you choose, with designo you will always make the right decision. And you can rest assured that our specialists will always apply your paint finish precisely and with the greatest possible care. A designo interior is, of course, more than just the sum of its parts. Nevertheless, the leather seats are a particularly important ingredient. Not only is leather the key factor aesthetically, it also enhances the comfort of the seats. Depending on the model, the designo leather upholstery comes in a single or two-tone combination with black designo leather. Upholstered in designo leather, your seats will always cut a fine figure. Look closely, and you will see the fine grain of the leather which comes almost exclusively from southern German bulls and is carefully hand-crafted by experienced upholsterers. Even the velour floor mats are edged in designo leather. designo uses only first-class materials for its interior trim. They not only have interesting grains, many of them also have an unusual story behind them. Cinnamora wood trim, for example, is made from camphor wood (cinnamomum camphora), which, until a few years ago, was used chiefly as a source of essential oils. designo treats all of these high-quality raw materials with the respect of a craftsman. designo wood trim Great feeling, skill and patience are needed to perform this precision work. Our employees bring these qualities to the job as they work with sensitive materials such as wood. They need about six weeks to produce a trim strip set alone. The veneer sheets are selected by hand, sorted, etched and lacquered with several clear coats and finally polished. Only after this procedure is the transformation from raw material into a unique designo creation complete. The designo range also includes a selection of exclusive additional features. Customers with an eye for detail and a desire to add something special to their Mercedes-Benz will find these extras just to their taste. Ranging from a leather-trimmed gearshift lever to additional leather appointments, there is so much which is possible. Alcantara roof liner In the CL Coupé, S-Class Saloon, CLS Coupé, E-Class, CLK, SL Roadster or in the SLK Roadster you can even have a roof lining styled by designo. Crafted from luxurious Alcantara, it complements the remaining interior appointments to optimum effect. In the E-Class, for example, the Alcantara roof lining is available in anthracite, etna grey or cashmere beige. With designo your Mercedes-Benz will be unique in its own way. Fine wood or stone trim parts, exquisite leather upholstery and select exterior paint finishes give your automobile a special touch. Every single equipment item represents an extraordinary level of quality which you will sense at first glance and with every touch. What's the secret behind this? To be quite honest, in selecting and processing the designo materials we adopted a great deal from other craftsmen: from experienced upholsters, the art of working handpicked leather skins with the greatest care; from piano builders, coating trim parts with up to ten layers of piano lacquer, until they achieve an incomparable brilliance and depth effect; and from Leonardo da Vinci, the idea to use poplar wood. designo elements in a Mercedes may not equal the Mona Lisa – but they can always be considered a small work of art. Mercedes’ customers from Canada will be able to enjoy a new special designo program, available for the S-Class, CL-Class, SL-Class, SLS AMG, and G-Class. This program is available to individualize the Mercedes to the customer’s exact color wishes and makes Mercedes the first manufacturer to offer a matte paint on a production vehicle. The new designo program combines exclusive paint finishes, hand-stitched leather appointments, and exotic trim elements to give customers all of the choices they will need to create a unique and personality driven look to their luxury car. Mercedes has added Allanite Grey, Cashmere White,Nano Particle Graphite and Platinum to their list of exterior paint colors as well as Platinum White, Light Brown, Jet Black, and Deep White to their leather options. Curly Maple Natural Wood finish, Tamo, Olive, and Bamboo trim color options add to the already luxurious and natural look of the vehicle. The new exterior color choices are not just more visually appealing, but also serve a much more practical purpose. The MAGNO paint used reduces susceptibility to minor scratches because of the way the light reflects off the matte finish. It also has the ability to hide minor dirt and dust better than the traditional finishes used in production vehicles. caveats: 1 1/20" chip on lower right of windshield that was professionally fixed.1 very small 1' scuff on passenger door I will buff out.
