Vehicle Detail
ONE of TWO!!! You are bidding on one "extremely rare" Ford Maverick. For those of you that know what a "Marti Report" is, I spent the money for the "Elite" report. Check out the photos I posted and you will see that this car is one of only two built like this, with the same equipment and color. The color is one of the most unique features. These cars were produced in 5 different colors when new, red/black, yellow/black, silver/black, blue/black, and white/black. There are very few Maverick Stallions left out there and the white and blue ones are the rarest of them all. I am a member of an Internet forum (www.maverick.to) for Maverick/Comet owners of which we presently have over 17,500 members. There are only a couple of white Stallions amongst us. This car has been repainted at least once in it's life but this is a factory correct paint job. This car needs only a nice set of tires to enable it to be driven anywhere. The ones on it are okay but pretty old. The car is good enough to be an every day driver as is. This car comes with the deluxe black bucket seats. The door trim panels are in excellent condition. To be made into a show car it will need some seat repairs, carpet, headliner, tires, a nice paint job, and engine detail. The car drives great. It has the 250 6 cylinder, 3 speed standard tranny, and power steering. A great candidate for a V8/4 speed conversion if wanted! The body is in great shape with some minor damage on the rear tail light panel. The rear bumper is bent also. There is a spot of rust in the trunk floor about 3-4" diameter, very easy repair. The rest of the car is very straight and solid. The floors are solid from what I have inspected from the bottom side. I have not pulled the carpet for a thorough inspection. All frame rails are solid. Both rocker panels have a dent in them. Looks like some idiot may have put a jack in the wrong spot at some point in time. The actual odometer reading is a little over 29,000 miles although I figure it's rolled over once even though it does drive great like it is. The suspension obviously has been maintained well over the years because a Maverick would not drive this good if it had been neglected. I have a clear title on this car. You will also receive the full framed "ELITE" Marti report along with the car. See photos. I hate to sell this car but I have to face reality. I am too old to try to restore all the cars I have. This car is too nice for it to just be sitting in the garage. I am probably 2-3 years away from being able to do it justice if I restore my other ones first. I have a 72 Sprint Maverick and a 71 Grabber that means a lot to me. My plan is to make them next. I currently have a different set of tires and wheels on this car. It is a set of 15" chrome magnum 500's with standard size blackwall tires all the way around. They actually belong to a friend of mine that let me use them while driving the car during Cruising The Coast. I like the chrome magnums because they are a little dressier but they are not original to the car, however, my friend does not care which wheels he gets to keep. I can let the car go with the 14" wheels you see in the photos or leave the 15" chrome ones on. I can email anyone a current photo with the chromes ones if you want to make a choice. This car is listed locally with a Buy It Now price of $5800. I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time!
