Vehicle Detail
This is an extremely nice 1967 Triumph Spitfire. This is a solid original car that received a cosmetic freshening about ten years ago. It clearly has been well cared-for throughout the years. The odometer reads 74,463 miles and the previous owner told me that it is the original mileage. I believe the mileage is correct, but the title shows mileage “exempt” because of the age of the car. I have the clear Florida title in hand. The original hard top, soft top, tonneau cover, and owner’s manual are included. BODY / FLOORS / FRAME: This is a remarkably solid car. The fit of the doors, bonnet and trunk lid are excellent and the body is laser-straight. I can’t find any rust holes anywhere in the frame, floors, undercarriage or trunk. The undercarriage appears to be completely original and correct. This car was professionally undercoated and rust-proofed when new (probably at the dealership), and I have not detailed it. PAINT / CHROME: This Spitfire has had only one repaint approximately ten years ago. It was a superb quality job using genuine Imron paint. It still looks outstanding, and the only flaws I found are a small bubble at the bottom edge of the front bonnet and a tiny ding on the top of the bonnet. The bumpers and chrome are in good original condition, but they have not been re-chromed -- they do show normal wear for the age and mileage. INTERIOR / TOP: The seats, dash, door panels, top, headliner, carpet etc. are all in excellent condition. The interior appears to be mostly original to me, so I’m not sure if it was restored. My best guess is that the carpets were replaced but the rest might be original. The previous owner said he never took the soft top out of its original protective bag and it looks like the original one to me. I might have been the first person to put it on the car, but I can’t be sure. MECHANICAL: The engine starts easily, runs extremely well, and does not smoke. The engine compartment looks original and correct but it has not been detailed. The transmission, clutch and brakes are in good working order. The shifter feels a bit sloppy or loose to me, but I have been told that that is normal for this car. The tires are in like-new condition. IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS: I think the engine is original to this car, but I have not requested the Heritage Certificate to confirm it. The numbers on the car are as follows: V.I.N.: FC70318L ENGINE: FC69643HE BODY: 62953FC PAINT: 32 TRIM: 11 THIS VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD AS-IS, WHERE-IS, WITH NO WARRANTY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. I have tried to describe this vehicle accurately and I posted lots of pictures. If you are unsure about bidding please come see it in person first.
