Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my 1970 Opel GT an original survivor with only 14K on the drive train. The car originated from Texas and spent its last years in Pa. in storage. The Opel was last inspected and registered in 1993. The Opel has a free and clear Pa. title. The entire car has been expertly painted in its original factory orange with a black interior. The paint job is solid down to the headlight buckets. There are very few imperfections in the body or paint. As far as I can tell there have been no body repairs to this car. The belly pan is nearly rust free, save a spot in the front left foot well on the driver’s side and the battery tray is near perfect. The engine bay is super clean; a minimum amount of work will be needed here. The cars 1.9 liter engine runs great! With a smooth manual 4 speed trans and good clutch. The oil has been changed; the points, plugs, cap, rotor and wires have been replaced and the carburetor has been rebuilt. The master cylinder will need to be gone through, but the front calipers have been rebuilt and new pads installed. Interior is the roughest area of the car having its original, seats, carpets and dash. It is missing the driver’s side door panel and piece of trim and there is a small tare in the head inner. The plating has very little patina on items such as the heater control valve and headlight cable, and other misc. The floors are solid except for the hole mentioned earlier. All outside chrome is in good shape bumpers, door handles and trim. The car has the original wheels, trim rings, center caps and lugs all in good shape. This is still a project car so considering the potential value of it I would recommend a good restoration. A full service shop can aid in restoring this car for you or break out the tools and do it your self, it’s just that good! Although many of the big ticket items are in good shape or have already taken care of, it will need some things like tires and poss. some suspension parts to get it back to a high level. The car is in a good place to be readied for the road. It runs and drives but is not road ready. I am not all knowing about the Opel GT but I have described the condition of this car to the best of my ability. Feel free to ask questions. Be sure you are ready before you Bid. Projects that are in this shape do not come along often. So bid with confidence! I am asking a reasonable reserve to protect my investment. I also have the car for sale locally, so this auction may not last. The Opel is being sold as-is with no warranty real or implied. The winning buyer will need to send a $500.00 deposit refundable only if the buyer finds an undisputable issue in the car that differs from the above description. The balance will be due when the car is picked up. I will make myself available for your pick up
