Vehicle Detail

It's 1 of 2 made in this color combination , red, black top, tan int out of a total 81 Red Convertibles built and 245 built in in 1986. Since some of you probably never heard of it, I'll explain. ASC bought from 84-86 Mercury Capri's and modified them into 13 second convertibles (just like Shelby and Roush), they were originally hatch backs, 87-90 they used Mustangs. Back in 86 a loaded Capri/Mustang 5.0 was around 14k, the ASC package was 10k more. ASC gave them the Ford Motorsport B303 camshaft, ground effects, Hella fog lights, and honey comb wheels imported from Campagnolo in Italy. The convertibles required the redesigning of the car's unit construction and the fabrication of a replacement rear deck lid, floor reinforcements, quarter panel caps, tonneau cover and a windshield that was raked back an extra 10 degrees. They received a manual convertible top that took up residence in the area once designated for the rear seats. This was my Dad's car, he bought it in 1998 from it's original owner, he really only drove on weekends and to car shows, other than that it lived in his garage in Lansing Illinois. It has 77k original miles on it. When he gave it to me, it was transported here, but the transport company loaded it backwards on the front of their trailer, so the wind ripped most of the top off (JMT Transport out of Ocala, Uninsured, lying, piece of shit, if you ever meet this guy, be sure and punch him in the dick for me). Since I've had it, it only leaves my garage, maybe once a month if that, to go to a local car show, and i just leave the top down. I bought stainless steel brake lines from Classic Tube, but have only gotten around to installing the rear sections, the rest are in the box and go with the car as well as new rear wheel cylinders and a few other spare parts I have for it. It's not a Concours car or a show car, but a very good condition ORIGINAL lightly driven car. Tops are available for $400 1984 thru 1986 Capri / McLaren (ASC Conversion) Since it has only had 3-4k miles put on it since 1998 (she's been a garage queen) I would recommend flushing the fluids and giving it a tune up before driving her everyday. It does have a new serpentine belt. ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK. $500 nonrefundable deposit is due within 24 hours of the auctions end.
