This is a solid, original, numbers-matching 1961 Triumph TR-3 that would be a great candidate for restoration. It runs and drives and has a clear Florida title. I have the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate that confirms that this car retains its original engine. HISTORY: The previous owner told me that he purchased the car in April 1977 and he was the second or third owner. He took it off the road to restore it in 1980 but he never got around to it. It sat unused for 30 years until I bought it last year. The odometer shows 65,007 miles which might be accurate but there is no documentation for it. The title shows mileage “Exempt” because of its age. BODY / FLOORS / FRAME: You can see in the pictures that the frame and undercarriage are remarkably solid and original. The body also looks original and solid with only a few small areas of rust. The right rear fender has a dent as shown in the pictures, but it can probably be straightened out. The bumpers and chrome look original to me but will need re-chroming. MECHANICAL: I had the fluids changed and got the car running and driving but it needs a good tune up. The engine doesn't smoke and the engine compartment looks correct. The transmission and clutch are operational but probably need to be gone through. This car cannot be driven on the road in its current condition because the brake pedal is too soft. The tires are very old and I haven’t driven it any faster than 40 mph. INTERIOR: The pictures show the condition of the interior. It looks pretty much original, needing restoration. The convertible top is in excellent condition so I assume it was replaced. THIS VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD AS-IS, WHERE-IS, WITH NO WARRANTY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. I have tried to describe this vehicle accurately and I posted lots of pictures. The balance must be paid by cash, cashier’s check, or wire transfer within seven days of the end of the auction. Any cashier’s checks must clear my bank before the vehicle can be released. If the winning bidder fails to pay in accordance with these requirements, I may, at my option, make second-chance offers or re-list/remarket the vehicle and the deposit will be forfeited by the bidder to help cover the extra expenses. I retain the right to end the listing early. The sale location is Bell, Florida, Florida law governs, and venue lies exclusively in Gilchrist County, Florida. SHIPPING / PAPERWORK / SALES TAX: Arranging and paying for shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder. I am a long-time classic car enthusiast and a licensed automobile dealer (Classic Investment Motorcars Inc.). This means that we must complete standard sales and transfer forms, and if you live in Florida or want to pick up the car personally in Florida I must collect the applicable sales tax and tag/title fees from you. If the vehicle is shipped out of Florida by common carrier or a shipping company I will not be required to collect the sales tax.
