Vehicle Detail

Great, solid MGA in a very desirable color combination. Black and chrome with a red leather interior, pretty much the ultimate in my book. This car was originally restored about 20 years ago. Does not appear to have had any collision repair. It's now been around the block a few times. The paint is showing it's age, crazing in places, but still shines up nicely. The body has held up well in that there is no rust or rot I can find anywhere. Not a show car but a nice survivor. There are some dings, scratches and paint blemishes/touch ups. An "honest" patina. I'd rate the paint a 6 1/2. I bought this car from a dealer I know in Atlanta who had just gotten the car from someone he knew in Florida. He claimed the car was mechanically rebuilt less than 1000 miles ago. Unfortunately, no receipts. There are indications this may be largely true. A lot of fresh looking components, new looking exhaust, tires etc. The engine sounds great, runs well, good even compression. Shows good oil pressure and does not overheat or smoke. Brakes work well, better than I expected for 50's drums. Clutch is smooth. Tranny feels good, sounds good. Car drives great, very tight, no rattles or squeaks, stops straight, feels pretty darn "new" actually. A very fun driver. It surprises me how nice it feels. The interior still shows well. Nice red leather seats, minor wear. Beautiful dash and gauges. Thus far everything seems to work except the heater blower, hope to have that solved soon. Nice carpet and floor mats, good door panels, no real issues. A beautiful interior. The beading on the passenger door top pad has minor damage. Nice tonneau/moon cover. The soft top currently mounted is a tan canvas type. It is in good shape, not ripped or torn, clear rear windows. It does show some use, a bit of dirt, might clean up. Included is a new black top in the box should you want a totally black exterior. Pair of side curtains. Passenger side fits great. Driver side needs some tweaking of the bolted on arm but should fit once that is addressed. Spare tire and proper tools in the trunk. Chrome is mostly good, front bumperettes are pitted somewhat as is the license plate light. All in all a beautiful car that you don't need to replace half the body on, enjoy it now. I know people will ask why I'm selling---it's hard though! I have too many cars to properly maintain and store. I can't afford to have a caretaker per se, and I just don't use them enough to keep them all totally up to snuff all of the time. So many cars, so little time! I intend to put a number of my cars up for sale, will see what might sell first----don't intend to sell them all. Thanks for looking! Personal inspections encouraged.
