Vehicle Detail
NO RESERVE $1 START, HIGHEST BIDDER WINS! Up for auction, a 1965 Chrysler Imperial Crown Coupe, VIN *Y253203717*, one of only 3974 produced. It presents itself here in excellent, thoroughly drivable condition, and equipped with a multitude of options. Having spent all of its earlier years in the So Cal / San Diego area, and residing for the last 9 in Portland OR. The rare 2-door has been maintained solely in these two states, and still possesses its original black California plates. Car is in bone-stock condition, powered by its original, numbers matching 413 cu in V-8. Starts instantly, idles and shifts smoothly, delivers full power. It can best be described as bullet-proof through the entire time of my ownership (last 9 years). This was the last model year for the 413 engine, which was first introduced in 1958. As befitting a mostly lifelong California car, the Imperial features original, excellent condition coachwork, and a completely rust free undercarriage and chassis. Nothing but healthy sheet metal throughout, except for one small spot, as pictured. Original paint code 22441 Sierra Sand (see attached chart). Overall, very presentable, though the finish is a bit weathered, lacking a clear coat. To be expected from what looks to be original '65 paint. Far from a drawback, the Imperial's vintage patina seems to add character to its already impressive physical attributes. As you may judge from the photos, the Coupe retains its original good looks quite well. Certainly better than many "cleaned up" versions you may see posted elsewhere. The key factor being that it is a California West Coast survivor without any surprises lurking beneath the surface. 46 years old, the Chrysler has never needed any collision repair. Flaunting her beautifully sculpted D platform body, just as when she rolled out of her old school Detroit assembly plant. Solid as a rock and ready for another 46 years of carefree cruising. Driving the Crown Coupe feels like true time travel. Car performs flawlessly, displaying the many refinements of a well engineered 60's American luxury automobile. There is nothing quite like the feel this car transmits when cruising down the highway. Enhanced by the reassuring power and sound of its 340 hp V-8. Could be used with equal pride as a daily driver or, with a bit of detailing, a Sunday-only show stopper. Classic car insurance is very affordable, spare parts are universally available and, best of all, this vintage Chrysler will remain a perennial head turner and never go out of style! Here's a unique opportunity to acquire one of the finest remaining examples of an iconic American automobile, It features the right colors, Coupe body style, and has been outfitted with all the options one could wish for. Why restore a mediocre example when you can own one that's instantly ready to go? Recently fitted with a new dual exhaust system. Completely original leather interior w/ power seats, power windows, power front wing windows, adjustable position steering, original AM radio, power antenna, variable speed wipers. Rear fan, Map light. Factory A/C is complete, but needs some minor attention and a charge. Two rear window motors need repair. Three small dings: front right trim strip, chrome above grill, rear bumper. Vehicle is sold as-is where-is. I am happy to arrange for shipping, costs are responsibility of buyer.
