Vehicle Detail
Rare 5 speed manual 191k miles Has been my daily driver for 9 years Always used synthetic oil Just re-inspected, good through November 2012 Reliable and good condition overall The clutch and transmission shift beautifully At this age and mileage it has some imperfections, including: rust at the right rear fender well both power windows for the back seat are not working a small (1 inch) crack in the windshield (was treated professionally years ago, and never grown) a/c needs recharged 1-2 times per year (was converted to R134) power antenna doesn't work cruise control doesn't work Eligible for antique plates, if desired Interior is biscuit MB Tex, in good condition Sunroof Power seats Sony CD radio with Aux and Ipod inputs On Nov-19-11 at 21:00:25 PST, seller added the following information: 11/19/11 Here is some additional history and repairs: I purchased in June 2002 with 73,600 miles, as the 3rd or 4th owner. Previous owner was in a front end accident and his repairs included hood, bumper, radiator, a/c condenser and converted to R134 and repaint from the front doors forward. The trip odometer stopped working so I replaced it with a junkyard cluster, whose odometer read 133k miles (vs 75k) an increase of almost 58k. Today it reads 191k, but minus 58, the car really has only 133k Other issues: I've had to add a quart of oil between changes recently. Not sure why; (no obvious dripping, or smoky exhaust). It is due for new spark plugs, air filter. The front brakes pulsate a little. I don't think the rotors and pads are that old, but need to find the receipts. When it is cold (below 40), the blower/climate control has been clicking/cycling off/on until it warms up. Misc Repairs: July 2004 (143k - 58 = 85k) I had the cylinder head rebuilt; new valve guides and seals, and obviously head gasket and timing chain and guides Dec 2005 new front struts Feb 2006 (154k - 58 = 96k) both tie rods replaced Aug 2006 new tires (BFG Touring Pro 205/60 HR 15) Oct 2007 new serpentine belt, and timing chain tensioner Jan 2008 new clutch master cylinder Exhaust (cat back) and rubber driveshaft coupling were also replaced in the last few years. Also comes with: the original speedometer cluster the original Becker AM/FM Cassette radio Factory Repair Manual CD-Rom Bentley "E-Class Owners Bible"
