1980 Honda CX500

This very clean 1980 Honda CX500C will be a great bargain for someone who wants a minor winter project. I impulse purchased this bike a couple months ago because it was so clean and the mileage was so low. But it sat for a year before I bought it and it needs some minor work. I'd prefer a smaller bike anyway, so I'm letting it go. The engine starts right up and idles great. After it warms up you have to keep the choke slightly closed for it to run its best. The mechanic at the Honda shop said the carburetors need cleaned. I don't have the time to mess with them and I don't want to pay the shop. It really does start right up run great and if you keep the choke closed a little you would never know there's a problem, even at highway speeds. Otherwise the bike is in excellent condition. It looks about as nice as an original 30 year old bike can. I would rate it 9 out of 10, as there are some signs of age. There are some paint chips near the ignition key and on the frame near the footpegs, but for the most part is looks like a 5 year old motorcycle, and the pictures are a pretty accurate representation of how the bike looks in person. The tires are fairly new and are in excellent condition. It has a current PA state inspection and a clear PA title in my name. The bike is located at my house in Mechanicsburg, PA 17050. Cash only at pickup or cleared bank check in advance of pickup. I will work with your shipper but you have to make all arrangements. The title must be notarized out of my name before the bike can leave my house(required by PA law). Thanks for looking.
