Vehicle Detail

We are real sellers looking for a good home for my dad’s car. You will notice there is no reserve. The car is located in Scio, Oregon. If you bid be prepared to transport it. If you are the winning bidder we expect: 1. A call from you within 24 hours to make pick up arrangements 2. A deposit of $1,000.00 within two days It is a 1929 Shay Model A Roadster replica. It was built in 1980. It was a 50th year anniversary tribute to the original 1929 Model A. Harry Shay, a GM engineer, contracted with Ford to supply a Ford Pinto 4-cylinder engine, automatic transmission, and rear end. The custom steel frame supports a fiberglass body and fenders with a rumble seat and painted steel cowl hood. The car has a folding soft top with side curtains. These cars also have non-power front disc and rear drum 4-bolt brakes, non-power rack and pinion steering, floor-mounted pull-up emergency brake and front coil and rear leaf spring suspension. It starts right up and runs great. If you bought it you could drive it home, with the possible exception of unknown tire age. After going to www.shayhistory.com it looks like this is the Model A: 500 Super Deluxe Roadster as evidenced by the twin spare tires. My parents bought this car in 1986 from a Ford dealer in Buellton, CA. They were the second owners. They have always kept it in a garage, and only took it out once per year for a local parade. It is in very nice shape overall. My dad passed away November 17, and mom would like to sell it to cover the funeral expenses. · It has an automatic transmission. · The plastic cover which shows the gears is broken. Probably a stock Ford Pinto part. · The folding soft-top has a couple of small tears an inch or less long. · The side curtains are in good shape. · Upholstery is in great shape. · All the lights work · The wipers work but the blades need to be replaced. · The heater works · "A-oogah" horn. · When opening the trunk cracks on the underside of the straps are visible · The car starts and runs great · It has current Oregon license and title.
