Vehicle Detail
1969 Oldsmoblile Toronado. Mileage shows 63k but unknown. Was told its the original 455ci engine from the previous owner, and that seems to be the case. This car is far from a show car and needs things here and there all over. It is in wonderful shape for its age and is absolutely SOLID when it comes to rust. Yes even the trunk looks great where the rear water drains normally get to these cars. I always encourage you to come see and drive the car before you bid. Mechanical: Best part about this car actually. The car starts with a twist of the key every time. It drives wonderfully at hwy speeds. Shift smoothly through all gears, stops correctly. Carberator was completely rebuilt this week. Car has new wires, plugs, distributor cap, etc. Transmission was serviced, fluid and filter. Exterior: Appears to have had one repaint and is a dark or hunter green metallic. It is faded in spots(see photos), has one crack on the bottom of drivers door (see photo), there is one small dent just behind olds symbol on right rear ( see photo). It is ok as a driver or while you work on it but definitely was a "maaco" job. All trim was removed it appears prior to paint so chrome and stainless is pretty nice. The only piece that I know is missing is the 4" trim by drivers side lower windshield. Car originally was a vinyl top and all trim is still in place to replace if you wish. Tires all hold air but are older and weathered. Interior: Solid overall but needs work. Carpet is complete and will take you back to that lovely "Harvest Gold" that we had in our kitchen. Seats are tan and in great shape. Dash has a crack or two but not a wreck. Radio is not original but will also take you back (yes it works). Door panels are not perfect but are in pretty solid shape. You can get inside this car and drive it as is. Has spare tire and original jack. The Bad: This car is really in good shape, needing work, but not a disaster. I would MUCH rather say too much of whats wrong than miss anything. So if it seems I am describing a wreck take it with a grain of salt and look at the photos. Drivers side window works but needs a hand at times. Passenger side works fine. Both rears are not as cooperative. Headlight covers need to be positioned by hand (vacuum system works good but the remote control valve is broken). Power steering works great but does have a small leak from one hose. Speedo does not work. Depending on the cars mood you may have to reach for outside door handle to get out. AC is all there but I have never even tried it. Original hubcaps are long gone. Exhaust will need some attention. All there but there is a leak if you listen. The plastic part of the hood release handle is broken so a wire extension has to be pulled. Please remember this is an unrestored 40+ year old car. It runs and drives just like it is but will not be winning any car shows like she sits. Like I said above PLEASE come see the car, take it for a drive if you are in the area. If there are any special photos you would like please ask. I am not pricing the car to see if I can win the lottery. I will not quote some fancy value that really does not apply. The buy it now price is reasonable for the car and the condition. If you want to see if you can save a few bucks by bidding and wait, go ahead, I love Vegas. Thanks for your time.
