Vehicle Detail
Offered for auction is my 1985 Toyota 4Runner SR5 SUV. This Toyota has been family owned since 1988 and was purchased new in California and remained there until 2004 when I moved to Chicago. This Toyota SR5 4runner has every option offered in that year including 5 speed manual transmission, 4 wheel drive, manual locking hubs, chrome package, sr5 package, air conditioning, rear heater, sun roof, chrome wheels, gauge package, altimeter, tilt gauge, clock, auto antenna, power windows, power steering, tilt wheel, bucket seats, fold down rear seats, am/fm tape deck. This truck was more than $15000 new in 1985, a very expensive vehicle at the time. I have the original Toyota repair manual and owner’s manual. The interior is all original. The exterior is all original paint except for the left front fender which was replaced. This truck has features straight axles front and rear and is a collector vehicle now. The truck is still running well, but some things are not working or may need repair shortly. Air conditioning has a slow leak. The electric antenna is broken (replacement non-electric included but not installed). While a California truck until 2004, corrosion has set in on some areas of the truck. No areas of the vehicle body are rusted through however. Interior switch to roll down tailgate window does not function (tailgate window still rolls down with the key). Parking brake sometimes cannot be disengaged. The work around is to not use the parking brake and put the truck in gear when parked. Passenger door "stiff" does not open easily. I have thoroughly enjoyed the vehicle and the 4WD works great in the winters. I bought an Inifiniti SUV so I no longer need the 4Runner.
