1965 Jeep Gladiator J2000 4X4 (With Chevy Engine And Transmission) Reserve Auction. The reserve price is $3500 1965 Jeep Gladiator J2000. Has a Chevy 350 Engine and 3 speed automatic turbo 350 transmission. The engine is a early 80's to late 70's motor. The transfer case is a 205. The front differential is a Dana 44 and rear is a Dana 60, both have a 7:10 gear ratio and are five lug. The rear is posi trac. There are no dents in the body. Tire Size : 35X12.50R15LT 4 inch spring over lift for a total of 7 inches. Custom Arc leaf springs in front. (Legal for the State Of CA). The speedometer bounces and does not work properly. Ebay required a mileage to be place in a text box to post the auction. I put in 100,000 just to put something in. Since the engine and transmission have been replaced there is no way to determine the exact mileage. I think it says 50 something on the odometer. Has disk brakes all around, power brakes, power steering, power windows, cruise control, and Air conditioning. The cruise control is crude and does not work. It appears to be mechanically operated. The A/C also does not work. The disk brakes on the rear are corvette dual piston type. The engine, transmission, and transfer case all work well and correctly. There is a oil leak here and there, the worst being on the front of the motor. Some oil may accumulate on the manifold causing smoke. The electrical system works pretty good but is not perfect. You will see the high beam indicator illuminated slightly even on low beam indicating a short or bad ground somewhere. All the turn signals , lights, brake light, headlights, are functional. The vehicle drives OK as expected for such a large beast and the braking system works good. The doors are tight and there are minimal rattles considering the age of the vehicle. You could drive this home anywhere in theory. However due to it's low gearing and fuel usage it could be impractical. I'm not sure of the value of this vehicle due to the wide price range spectrum.
