Up for sale is my 1982 VW Vanagon with a factory VW diesel engine and manual transmission. Previous owner said this van gets in the high 30's for mpg. Unfortunately the current motor in the van is bad and will need rebuilt or replaced. I can not tell you whats wrong with it but the head has been removed. The good news is a spare motor is included in the auction that is said to be good. The previous owner had planned to put this motor in the van but never got around to it. This van will sell regardless of final price as a no reserve auction so bid to win. The van is for sale locally and I determine whether or not to sell it outside of ebay depending on the current bid so bid early and bid often. Exterior: The body on this van will is in surprisingly good condition considering age. Rear tailgate has slight dent in it and numerous small rust areas can be found around the body. This van has sat on blacktop for nearly 15 years. The tires all hold air but are beyond unsafe to use for driving. I have a spare set of good tires I can mount on this van for $150.00 on top of final price. Interior: Interior has seating for 7. The seats have original vinyl and look good. To access the engine you open the "hood" in the rear of the van. You can actually work on the entire top of motor while sitting in the van. Drivetrain: The clutch and brake peddle feel good, steering system turns the wheels left and right. The current motor is still bolted to the transmission, and the replacement motor is a direct drop in. Just do a timing belt job and other common sense tune up parts and the van should run. If needed I can do the motor swap for the winning bidder for $700.00. I have the tools to do the work and have worked on many VW diesels in the past. Terms and Conditions – PLEASE READ!!! Buyer must show proof of state of residence. Calculate the other state price (taking into account the above adjustments, such as a trade-in allowance for the purchase of a used car) and apply the rate of tax as listed in the chart above. Collect from the customer the lesser of the two amounts. Sales to residents of any other state not listed in the chart are not subject to Ohio tax, provided the proper affidavit for nonresident sales is completed by the purchases and tendered to the Clerks of Court when application for title is made. If needed, I can provide a temporary tag for a fee of $18.50. Payment A $200.00 deposit is required to be paid via Paypal within 24 hours of the auction closing. If winning bidder would like to pick up the item within 24 hours, please contact the seller immediately and a Paypal deposit will not be required.
