Vehicle Detail

This top of the line Olds 98 Regency four door hardtop was sold new right here in Twin Falls, Idaho at Abby Uregan Motors and for almost all of the time has belonged to one family. It is in very nice condition for the year and still is responsive with it's powerfull 455 cu in v-8. It still floats over the rougher roads nicer than most new cars and is a comfortable ride for six people. It has been painted back to it's original color one time and because it's been kept inside, still has the original vynil roof and in good condition with no cracks or tears. The paint is very presentable but not one of those multi thousand dollar paint jobs but I'm not asking a fortune for it either. Because of our dry climate rust has never been an issue. It has fender skirts and the stainless steel hub caps are next to perfect. The interior is very plush, 99% original and in good condition. The only thing cosmetic that I think could use some more work is the 3" bumper extentions that fit between the rear bumper and the rear fenders. They are made of a flexibal plastic and they have several cracks around them. I had a body shop work on them but the cracks came back. They don't stand out real bad but they are the weak link on the exterior finish. The ac needs charged or fixed and two or three other small electrical items need fixed. All of the major components work very well aside from the power steering being a little growly. It has an F-78 15 spare tire in the trunk that looks like it has never been on the ground. This one definitely could have been your grandmothers Olds. These luxury liners are becoming very sought after in several foriegn countrys like Sweden, Finland and Australia. Lots of these countrys never had big opulent motorcars and now they have become the target of some serious collectors. This is a nice, solid, original survivor that I wouldn't be afraid to take on a road trip tomorow. Please give me a call for more info if you like. Thanks HarveyOn Nov-09-11 at 14:14:37 PST, seller added the following information: I have been getting email after email wanting the particulars on what works and what doesn't work so I spent some time and went over things pretty closely and this what I came up with. Keep in mind these are my observations not a warranty or guaranty. This vehicle is sold as is like most any vehicle on Ebay. I have 100% positive track record on Ebay, have been in the car business since 1987 and between my wife and I, have sold almost 4000 cars and trucks. We strive to be honest with our customers even when it's not the easiest way to make money. So here goes the list. Hopefully if everyone reads this and the entire ad, most of the questions will be answered. - The AC turns on and BLOWS COLD (I don't know why I said it didn't in the discription above) - Headlights work on hi and low -Tail lights park lights and side clearance lights work - all the signals work - interior courtesy lights on bottom doors all work - interior dome lights work - wipers work - window washer works -power windows all work and from all the switches but they are sluggish when cold. - Heater and defrost work and the air shifts from floor to defrost and dash vents properly. *** the blower motor works on the first 3 speeds but not on high, it's not an expensive part to fix that. - horn works - power seat works on all six functions - The power locks clunk on all the doors but only one lock knob goes up and down all the way, I would assume the mechanisms are gummed up. - The cruise is not working - The tilt wheel is nice and tight - The steering wheel itself has a nice center part but the outer rim has gaps in it where the plastic has shrunk. I put a nice looking wrap on it. - The odometer shows 40,904 but I put 140904 in the description, the pedals show very little wear but it would be hard for me to imagine only 40k on a car like this that was meant to be on the road. Being as it was in one familys ownership almost all the time since new, I think it is this good of condition because it was kept inside and not abused. - Radio works - Power antenna works but you have to fool with the switch a bit - The rear window defroster switch is broken - Speedometer works - amp, oil, temp and seat belt warning lights work - Fuel gauge works - Lighter works - E brake works - The steering, engine, transmission and brakes all seem to functioning fine. ***Lots of people, particularly from the east, have asked about rust problems on the car. There two very slight bumps on the vynil roof sail panel on the passenger side towards the back panel. The two bumps are probably about the size of a dime just barely raising the surface They are so slight that I had the car for a couple weeks before I noticed them. Other than that car is rock solid, even the under side barely shows any rust color let alone any cancer spots. I've cleaned and washed it several times and have taken gobs of pictures and have yet to see a rust bubble lifting the paint. *** I have owners manual and the Dealers Car Shipping order that shows all the options and their cost. The color was Zodiac Blue and it cost $7270.80 in 1973.
