Vehicle Detail

This 1961 Willys wagon is a driveable project that has some very good points. The motor has been professionally remanufactured at Valley Engine in Twin Falls Idaho. They are one of the oldest and best rebuilders in Southern Idaho. The motor looks like the original and still has the factory skid plate on the bottom of the oil pan. It runs like the proverbial sewing machine. It has a new throwout bearing and clutch assembly as well as a new brake master cylinder. I believe the lights and gauges all work, I will check closer and make sure. This truck was an Ag Department vehicle for the first part of it's life and has the metal plate attached to the glove box lid to verify. As a practice the government would change rigs like these over to 12 volt systems and install a large military type generator on them. The body is quite straight and solid with no evidence of cancerous rust except at the bottom of the tailgate. They make a metal repair kit for that very common problem area. Some one did cut the rear wheel trim back about 1 1/2 inches, either to get rid of a rusty area or make alittle more clearance for tires. Speaking of tires, it has like new 33 9.50 16s on it. The axils have been put under the springs to give it about a 2 1/2 inch lift. As far as the area that has been cut out around the rear wheels is concerned, a conservative ad on wheel flair would look good or they do make metal patch panels for them. The rest of the body is pretty straight for the most part and it looks good going down the road just like it is. I have had the seats, front and back, reupholstered as well as the visors, front arm rest and door panels. It is done in a jeep tan colored kaki material that looks great in this wagon. It needs a headliner and the rest of the interior finished but the expensive part is done. The oak floor slats are in good condition and should refinish up quite well. As I mentioned in the beginning, it is a drivable project car. The main things that will need attention are; it has a new master cylinder but the rest of the system probably should be rebuilt for safety sake, the 3 speed T-90 tranny will pop out of second sometimes when you back off the gas- I have what is supposed to be a good T-90 that I will throw in with the sale. Please ask any questions or concerns you have before you bid. Give me a call at 208-308-5036 and I will give you honest answers to the best of my ability. Note; The heavy duty winch does work but does not have reverse, not broke, just never had it. If you would prefer to have the stock front bumper with upper guard, ( it's the optional four piece bumper), I will remove the winch and install the bumper. The bumper is in fair shape but needs to be straighted a bit and rechromed or powder coated. I do have the stock rear bumper that I will throw in for free. Anouther note; This rig has not been from a rusty area of the US, even the upper drip rail area around the roof is clean as in the pics. Lights hi & low beam work Tail lights work rt & Lt signals front and back work temp gauge, oil pressure gauge, and amp gauge all work- they are new after market gauges because it was converted from 6 volt to a 12 volt system. The heater puts out heat and the blower works but the retrostat switch on the dash does not work. The electric wipers work. I've had lots of calls and emails asking the reserve price so to make a level playing field the reserve is $3500. about the cost of the reman engine, new clutch and the recent upholstrey work. Please call with any questions, 208-308-5036 On Nov-05-11 at 21:22:00 PDT, seller added the following information:The fuel gauge also works
