A beautiful vintage Dunlop Motorcycle Tires sign. This was acquired from a Triumph dealer that went out of business in the 1970's. It was never used, just stored. It measures 19 1/2" x 28", and is made from pressed steel. The enamel paint is brilliant and unfaded, it is dark blue and red with a cream background. The print below the main words says "THE MATTHEWS CO., DETROIT 7, MICH. " , so this was printed before ZIP codes. Postal zones, the "7" after Detroit, began in 1943. ZIP codes began in 1963. So this sign was produced in that time period, so prior to 1963.I have seen many Dunlop signs over the years, but never one like this, and especially not in NOS condition.New Old Stock, but has some shop wear from storage, there are a few minor scuffs and scratches, nothing major.
