Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a very rare 1948 Packard Super Eight Victoria Convertible. This car is being relisted due to winning bidder not following thru with the sale. Please do not bid if you are not ready to follow thru with the sale. From what i have been told , there was less then 1000 of these built. It belongs to my son in laws father who asked me if I would list it for him. I know the car has been in storage since the 60's where it originally came from California. The prior owner was a Packard collector and passed away a few years ago. My son in laws father aquired the car as he is a Packard collector also. He had full intentions of restoring the car but time goes on and you never get to it. So it is now availble. The car is super solid with the exception of the drivers side floor pan that has a rust hole in it. Under carrige is in good shape. I did notice that the drivers door had been changed at one time. Everything else appears to be original to the car. The straight eight motor had some stuck valves so they were removed and we have good ones to replace them with. The rest of the motor parts are here and will go with the car. Years ago the car was sprayed out with some black paint just to preserve it for storage. The original colors of the car was black with a red interior and a tan top. As you can see the interior material is long gone but we have all the correct springs, door panels and hardware that can be redone. Looks like the car had power windows, power seat and probably a power top. Also a power antenna and overdrive trans. A lot of the chrome was redone at one time. I have all the double side moldings for the lower portion of the body and the hard to find pieces for the front fenders. Beautiful hood swan also. Eds father is still digging out parts that belong to the car and believes he has most everything that goes with it. I know there are some bumper guards, a very nice pair of sun visors (cost him $450), Air Cleaner and other parts that go to the car.You will get everything that he has. Just for a side note he has a complete 1948 packard 4 door parts car that runs real nice and will sell for an additional $1000 if you would like it.I could go on and on but if you would like anymore info it may be easier to call.
