The original owners traded it in with 107 thousand miles in 2001. Ten years later it has 154 thousand after I drove it to Florida. Over the years many repairs have been made, but the Benz remains the same. These include replacing the starter motor, glow plug and relays, other wiring in the body, plenty of rubber tubing in the engine compartment, and countless other alien-sounding items during my ten years of stewardship. Yes, the car should be drivable to __fill-in-your-city__; it has wrenches, jack, and a full-size spare tire (it's a one inch smaller diameter than current tires). The jack operates by plugging into one of the "slots" in the car and raising the body up. The car had working Air Conditioning prior to 2001; the system will need to be updated. However, the Moonroof and 3-of-4 windows operate (the drivers-side back seat window motor turns, but no action). The transmission is quite good; you will hear that "click" in 2nd, but it's been there more than 10 years. The next repair should include the front suspension (squeaking). Also note the small amount of oil near the gas pedal. Several mechanics have told me not to worry about it. A recent radiator flush had unintended consequences; depending on the humidity, the engine will run until you press the [red] stop button under the hood. This behavior is known as "dieseling" and is quite common. Overall, the Benz just won't die :)
