With only 53,000 ORIGINAL miles, this garage kept 1961 Ford Galaxie is in absolutely amazing nearly original mint condition! Originally purchased in Durango, Colorado, this car has been in the desert southwest its entire life. Optioned in 2-tone Aquamarine / Garden Turquoise combination, it is in absolutely stunning very original condition. This is a totally straight and RUST FREE car which still maintains it's original under coating from the factory. The exterior Aquamarine top paint is original and maintains it's perfect shine and luster, and the body was repainted in original Garden Turquoise that has been exceptionally well matched to the original (see photos). All exterior emblems are in like new condition without fading or hazing. All lights and lenses are in working order and free of cracks or fading. Interior upholstery is original and in excellent condition with no rips, tears or fading. There is a crack in the plastic trim on the back bottom of the front seat that covers the seat hinge (see photos), and the sun visors have a split at the back/rear seam which (not normally visible). This classic Galaxie is simply in very original show winning condition! This is by far one of the nicest original ones you will see or find anywhere in the country. It has amazing chrome and bright work throughout and is equipped with its original upgrade optioned 352 V-8 and Cruise-o-Matic automatic transmission. Chrome is excellent with no pitting or corrosion, but there is a 2" scrape on the front passenger bumper and on the rear driver bumper (see photos). All instrumentation is in perfect working order, and all dash needles are bright without fading. Also equipped with an AM radio, in excellent working condition with front speaker and clock. The antenna has been replaced and the clock is not running, although it may be a fuse - I am not sure. Everything under the dash looks brand new and is original. The interior upholstery and optioned padded dash are original, and the material is in like-new original condition, and retains its new-car smell. Headliner is original and like new, but there is a small hole in the working dome light where the bulb got hot at one time. The trunk compartment is in excellent condition with original spare tire from factory that appears to never have been removed. The original plaid trunk liner has a crack in it (see photos). Comes with original window sticker and sales receipt and lots of other documentation. There are 2 sets of original keys (not pictured), one of which is still in its original leather dealer key case. Most rubber components in the engine compartment have been replaced to maintain near-perfect condition. Engine, transmission, brake system, rear end, have been serviced and are good working order. All glass is clear without any signs of age, although there is a tiny (repaired) chip in the windshield and some wiper marks in the glass than can be rubbed out. Door windows are tight. Tires are new. This car rides and drives like new. I can't even say enough good about this car. It is one of the best kept original 1961 Fords in nearly original mint condition that you will ever find. Always garage kept. There is not a better place to invest than an original classic car, and this classic Galaxie is simply in excellent show winning condition! Ford won many awards for design of the 1961 Galaxie, and like the Fairlane, this is one the most sought after Ford models! This car has been in private collections most of its life and is reflected in its amazing condition and very, very, low mileage. This car is barely broken in! Value in collector cars is all about the right color combination and original condition. As they say, "It is only original once." If you are a collector and looking for a near-perfect very original "Turn Key" addition to your collection, look no further cause you just found it here! The car also comes with its original half-moon hubcaps (not pictured) as it originally came with white walls. I put the larger OEM stamped FoMoCo hubcaps on since the new tires are not whitewalls. There are also 4 after-market black floor mats (not pictured) that come with the car as well. I would also consider a trade for a 1950s or 1960s Classic Car that is shorter than this car (it is 17-1/2 feet long) as I need the garage space. I would prefer a 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960 or 1961 Studebaker Hawk series, 1960's Mustang, Firebird, Camaro or a nice convertible but will consider anything interesting!! No project cars please.
