Vehicle Detail
This Jetta was bought used a just over a year ago, and was used to go to work 25 miles away. The car has always started very well, even down to -20 degrees. Most of the miles driven are road miles. I drive @ 65 to 70 MPH, and my fuel milage has always been 46 to 48 MPG. The car had a new clutch installed just before I bought it at 95,000 miles. There was no evidence that the timing belt had been changed, so I had it changed with a Premium Belt kit, Water Pump, Idlers and pulleys @ 98,000 miles. Kit price and Labor to have it installed was $500+. Unfortunately the mechanic closed up shop, and the bottom engine seal has a very small leak. I lose about 2 tablespoons of oil in 1000 miles. I am using full synthetic oil and change the filter each time the oil is changed. The Cruse control did not work when I got the car. Tulsa VW installed a new one at about 100,000 miles and checked the engine light status and said it was a glitch. At 110,000 miles a recall was done to clip the sunroof drains. The engine light was on again and Tulsa VW said they could not find any reason it was on, perhaps a weak glow plug. At 115,000 miles a glow plug recall was issued and 4 new glow plugs installed, and the light reset. A new fuel tank cap was installed, all fluid levels checked and all hoses tight, but the engine light is on again. Diagnosed as unknown glitch. The car has heated seats and they work very well in cold weather. 2 pictures show my modification to the passenger seat tilt knob. It in no way inhibits to use of the knob, but enhances it's use for people with arthritis in the hand. Works great! I love this car, but unfortunately I lost my job and became unemployed so I must sell it. Blue Book Value is listed at $10,850 in Kelly, and $10,130 in NADA. Reserve is set at about 70%. Happy Bidding. On Oct-14-11 at 15:42:29 PDT, seller added the following information: Added a picture of the door post sticker. The sticker states that the car is a GLS and the title says JSI. According to the Bluebook, I would say the car is a GLS, as JSI is not listed.
