This auction is for a very rare 1938 Cadillac LaSalle Convertible Sedan with Dual Side Mounts. A good friend of mine owns this car and was able to purchase it from a long time owners estate. This car and a 32 Studebaker were stored side by side in a small garage in New Hampshire for approx 60 years give or take. The car is in the same condition as when stored except for getting it running, putting in a new radiator, new convertible top and some tires. He got the lights and brakes all working so the car can be driven the way it is. Of course the car needs a complete restoration if you want to go that route or just clean it up, maybe do a little interior work and drive the way it is. With only 265 ever made for 1938, not many people can say they have one of these let alone be driving around your neighborhood or local cruise in. The car still retains its original 322 V-8 Flat Head motor, 3 Speed Manual Transmission and runs just fine. As far as the body condition, it appears to be quite solid. Under carrige is in good solid condition also. Doors open and close fine and the door corners are in good shape. The only place I can see some repair is in the trunk area where a piece of tin was glassed in. This was a very stately car in its day and still is. The car has endless possibilities.
