You are looking at the Holy Grail of "Collector Muscle Cars" the:. "1969 Shelby GT500 Convertible" This GT500 Convertible was originally sold into Maitland FL where it quickly moved to Louisiana and then to Phoenix and then to me in Northern California.This GT500 left the factory with Acapulco Blue exterior paint and White deluxe interior. The car was restored in 1985 and painted Grabber Blue and the interior was changed to Black. This GT500 was featured in Mustang Monthly in Feb 1986 where it was displaying its new color combination. My intent was to bring it back to it's original beauty with factory colors. I started the restoration on the interior where I had the seats recovered, new carpet, rebuilt and re-chromed instrument cluster, re-chromed clock panel and rebuilt clock, restored Steering Wheel and new NOS AC Dash. The car had the wrong gauges, so I had them replaced with a set of original gauges (very hard to find).I also removed the steering column and had it rebuilt, so it now tilts and pops and works as it should.When I had the carpet out, I took pictures of the floors to display how nice they are. Please remember that this car was repainted more than 25 years ago and there is no rust showing or noticed (other than a little surface rust, here and there).I purchased along with the car the original motor as evidenced by the VIN stamp and date codes. The motor that is in the car is a very nice running 428cj motor. The original will need to be rebuilt, however I think it is standard bore and complete. The top is power and will need to be replaced. I have included a New Robbins top with new Glass back window.From a collectors perspective this is the car to own: 1969 Shelby GT 500 Convertible, Acapulco Blue, White Interior, White Top, AC, Automatic, Tilt, awesome investment.
