Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a numbers matching 71' BMW R75/5 Bike. 750 cc engine it was the largest BMW made that year. 71' was the second year of the completely re-designed BMW bikes the front end was changed to telescopic forks and the engine underwent a complete redesign. I bought this bike and saved it from being made into a vintage racer. **Bike is Tagged and Titled as an antique and the antique tag is transferable to new owner in Pennsylvania.** Whats been done in the past year: Forks were rebuilt last year Transmission was sent out and rebuilt, new rubber boot at transmission Clutch was replaced while trans was out New clutch cable Breaks were done Carbs cleaned, new fliters, petcock filters, german cloth covered fuel line Recently new plugs and ant points Swing arm bearings done Triple tree bearings done * Fenders and tank painted with original Glasurit German Paint 3 months ago (costly)* New Porcelain enamel BMW Badges ($50- each) on the tank, New rubber knee pads New wiring Harnesses Tires are in decent shape Gel Battery Euro electrics upgraded alternator and regulator New starter relay History of the bike is I bought it to save it from being "Cafe Raced" out. Bike had no fenders, signals or any extra stuff on it, I rode it for a couple months here and there and put it in the garage. Sourced fenders had them painted. Got new wiring harnesses from BMW and put it on the bike and just pretty much ran out of time too work on it and now I need to sell because I've started a new job and I'm moving to an apt, and have no where to store it. The wiring to the rear lights is done and its ran up to the light bucket. Bike just needs the electrics finished and you'll be good to go. I have neither time, patience or understanding of electrics. The left side head was pulled and pushrod tube seals replace, and new head gasket was installed. (oil dripping on your shifting foot isn't fun)Instrument cluster will most likely need rebuilt operating condition unknown. Kickstarter works well too. Bike has plenty of power, runs well, doesn't smoke. Shifts well with the characteristic BMW click (4 speed) It really is a smooth running machine, stops well also. Included is a thick Clymer manual, a Reprinted Original BMW Shop manual and wiring diagrams. Seat is some aftermarket saddle type thing, I don't care for it but it works. Front turn signals and stanchions are included as are an extra set of throttle, speedo, tach and choke cables with operating lever. Bunch of new extra pars from MAX BMW included Terms and Conditions: This above mentioned 1971 BMW R75/5 is sold AS-IS WHERE-IS, there are no warrenties expressed or implied. Bike is 40years old, please don't expect a new motorcycle.Payment is to be in cash or a certified bank check. Payment and pickup is to be made with in 7days of auctions end. PLEASE PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU COMMIT TO BUY ONCE YOU BOUGHT IT, IT'S YOURS. DON'T EXPECT TO HAGGLE THE PRICE WHEN YOU ARRIVE EITHER WHAT YOU BID IS WHAT YOU PAY.
