Vehicle Detail
1980 Suzuki GSX 750. It is the 16 valve engine with 80hp. 12 second quarter miles(according to the old ads). Recently gone through completely and painted/cleaned. New brakes. Front tires 6/32 rears 4/32. Tank was dipped and petcock replaced. Carburetors rebuilt. New starter. All wiring gone through. Will need a headlight. Tail-light has a hole in the lens. Does not have signals, I always take them off. All the wiring is there and marked if you want to put signals back on it, easy shmeezy . It will need either the rubber boots that go from the airbox to the carbs OR will need the 4 separate pod-type air filters and re-jetted to run open throttle. It starts and runs fine but open throttle wants to die. If it were me I would get the pod filters and re-jet it. Or like I said you can bet the rubber boots for the filter box. I have the original boots but they are so hard I can't get the airbox on. If you don't have a clue what I'm talking about continue looking, but if you know anything at all about these old bikes you'll know that it needs this airbox on there to create the vacuum and the OE exhaust for some back pressure(which this has), OR you'll need to re-jet it. I am moving in 3 weeks and cannot take the bike, un-friggin-fortunately.... EAnyhow, everything I've stated thats new on here is just that NEW. 16,ooo miles on bike. Has a brand new battery, cost $75 and I have the reciept - is not a cheap junko battery. Also comes with a charger that you can keep it connected to over the winter so battery won't go bad. Also has 4 brand new spark plugs, full synthetic 10w-40 oil from suzuki, and new oil filter. Bike is clean clean clean! No reserve I am moving. No shipping, pick-up only! Bike will need picked up. $100 deposit due within 48 hours of auction end.Good luck bidding! Also is a OEM Suzuki key with a Suzuki keychain. ThanksOn Oct-09-11 at 05:54:51 PDT, seller added the following information: OK, just to make it clear, the bike starts easily and idles fine, even without the airbox or being re-jetted BUT wants to die when throttle is turned. In the ad I put up that it starts and 'runs' fine, i should have used 'it starts and idles fine'. These carbs(Mikuni) need a vacuum(created by the airbox) in order to draw fuel from the float bowls of the carbs. If that vacuum isn't there it will need to be re-jetted. I have the original airbox and rubber grommets but the grommets are too hard to get around the carbs. They should be rubber but are as hard as plastic now. Either it needs the new rubber grommets so that you can get the airbox on OR it will need to be re-jetted. A jet kit is about $90. It has not been ridden at all without the airfilters and since everything was done, though has been started and run in the garage to get warm half a dozen times and to set up the air/fuel mixture. If you have anymore questions don't hesitate to ask, I will answer as fast as I can. Thanks.
