1995 Chevy G20 Van 1995 Chevrolet G20 Chevy Van Tradewinds Conversion revised 10/14/11 This Chevy Van has only 80,300 original miles -- mostly highway consisting of weekend trips, camping, and some moving. It's a very decent, clean van, and enjoyable to drive -- especially with the nice all around view. Non-smoker ownership throughout history. Vehicle recently passed state safety inspection (see photo of sticker below). I am the 3rd owner, having purchased it for short-term use for moving from one house to another. For that purpose, I performed a number of maintenances to bring the van up to near 100%. I purchased it from the 2nd owner and am familiar with his entire history with the vehicle including maintenance. Recent Maintenances: new power steering pump (prior worked fine but was leaking some fluid); new fuel pump with strainer; new fuel filter; new exhaust system (from cat all the way back); new thermostat; new serpentine belt + tensioner pulley; new PCV valve; new headlight dimmer switch; newly restored and rust-prevention-treated battery tray; more maintenances below. Features Highlights: 5.7L (350ci) fuel injected gas V8; 4L60E electronically controlled automatic overdrive transmission; 4-wheel ABS brakes, front + rear AC and heating; optional 33 gallon fuel tank; full sized spare with "Tradewinds" cover; trailering hitch and 4-wire wiring (Tradewinds light duty camper add-ons); driver airbag; intermittent wipers; power mirrors, windows, locks; cruise control. Drivetrain: Van has the drivetrain described in highlights, along with 3.42 rear end gearing. All mechanicals are stock. Starts, idles, and runs flawlessly. Powertrain Control Module passes diagnostics with no failure codes. No oil leaks. I rate the engine/tranny as a 10. Exterior: Van is dark red metallic with silver pin-striping. Tinted windows. Wheels are the optional "rally" wheels and have stainless steel trim rings with chrome center caps. Wheels and trim pieces are in great shape, and all will beincluded (though not shown in photos). - Hood was repainted due to clearcoat peeling; the hood has since very slightly faded but polish or wax does bring back to original lustre. - Approx 1/2 length of drivers side rocker panel and a very small portion of passenger side rocker panel have been passably (but not professionally) repaired and repainted due to the typical rusting of these areas. These areas are not extensive and can easily be redone to professional standards.. by a professional. No wheel arch issues. - There is a dent on the left rear door. Normally, this is not visible as it's covered up by the exterior mounted spare tire with the "Tradewinds" cover. I left this spare out of the photos so that the flaw would be visible, but the spare and cover will be included. Overall, for its age and compared to others around here, I rate the exterior as an 8 (a B-). Interior: Tan interior is in overall exceptionally nice shape for its age with only a few minor blems from use that are nearly all visible in the photos. Features 4 customized "captain" chairs all in top condition, center console with glove box, and rear sofa bed (3rd seat) that can recline from a seat to completely flat. The 2nd row seats and the rear seat are removable to convert the van into full cargo use. There is no carpet wear. Floor mats are included. - Custom interior mood lighting and individual reading lights for every seat. Side windows have sliding vents with screens. All seats have rear pockets for storage. Rear child safety locks. Additional features include plush carpet, fabric walls-ceiling-door panels, door panels with pockets, directional ceiling/dome lights, pleated shades on side and rear door windows. -- The interior has been cleaned, smells good, and looks better than in the photos. Flaws are minimal: a few small tears in wall fabric; the carpet where the 3rd seat mounts (as visible in photos) shows some rust staining, however, these stains are not visible when the seat is mounted; the front ashtray hinged cover has a chip on its corner, and one pivot missing -- it stays put but is not perfect looking (easily replaced with another lid). To sum up, I rate the interior as an 8.7 (B+). Brakes: 4-wheel ABS brakes -- front disc, rear drum. ABS passes diagnostics, no error codes. Brakes and parking brake work very well. The only flaw I believe is present is that the right rear brake makes a clunk sound from time to time. The recent inspection found no safety issue and I'm not sure what's making the sound, but I suspect either the shoes are improperly adjusted, or possibly a leaf spring shackle. As it's not causing any performance issue and hasn't gotten any worse during my use, it's not yet made my priority list for repair, but I do recommend looking at it. Tires: Pirelli LT235/75R15 Scorpion tires. These tires are in very good shape with lots of tread, and have at least a few years of safe lifetime left in them. That said, always have tires inspected by a professional once a year. Maintenances ("new" here means the work I did this summer): - new power steering pump; - new fuel pump with strainer, and fuel filter; - new exhaust (from cat all the way back); - new thermostat; - new serpentine belt + tensioner pulley; - new PCV valve + headlight dimmer switch; - newly restored and rust-prevention-treated the battery tray; - Starter was replaced in 2003 @ approx 67,000 miles; - Front and rear brakes, front and rear shocks, were last done in 2002 at around 62,000 miles; - Tranny fluid and filter were last changed around the 62,000 miles mark; - Engine oil has been changed at every 3000 miles; - all recent maint receipts will be included.
