THE VIN CODE MATCHES THE TITLE AND VIN NUMBERS ON THE APRONS. THERE IS NO DASH VIN TAG. I REMOVED THE LOWER DASH INNER TRIM PIECES AND SEE NO EVIDENCE WHERE ONE WAS EVER ATTACHED. I'VE HAD 67'S AND 68'S THAT HAD THE VIN ON THE DRIVER SIDE, THE PASSENGER SIDE AND SOMETIMES NOT AT ALL, LIKE THIS ONE. On Sep-30-11 at 16:10:12 PDT, seller added the following information: THIS VEHICLE WILL REQUIRE SIGNIFICANT RUST REPAIR, DON'T LET THE PICS FOOL YOU INTO THINKING IT'S BETTER THAN IT IS. I WOULD SAY IT'S A CAR IN FAIR CONDITION. NOTICE THE PICS I'VE LOADED, I WILL DESCRIBE THE RUST. BOTH TORQUE BOXES AND FRONT SUBFRAMES WILL NEED REPLACEMENT. BOTH FRAME RAILS HAVE SOME RUST THROUGH, I DON'T KNOW IF THEY CAN BE PATCHED. REAR FRAME RAILS HAVE SOME RUST THROUGH IN MIDDLE CHANNEL, BOTH SIDES, THEY APPEAR SOLID AS THEY PROCEED INBORAD. I BELIEVE THE REAR FRAME RAILS COULD BE PATCHED WITHOUT THE ENTIRE REPLACEMENT, BUT THAT'S JUST MY OPINION, I'M NOT A BODYMAN. REAR TORQUE BOXES ARE SOLID, AND EVEN THE FLOOR PANS SEEM SOLID WITHOUT SWISS CHEESE EFFECT, AT LEAST I COULDN'T PUT MY FINGERS THROUGH WITH PRESSURE. I SUSPECT THE CAR MAY HAVE SAT OUTSIDE POITED DOWNHILL NOSE FIRST. ANY WATER WOULD HAVE RUN DOWN AND ACCUMULATED ON THE EDGES OVER THE YEARS. RIGHT FRONT FENDER HAS A SPLIT RIGHT AT THE SEAM, HOOD SHOWS BONDO WORK IN FRONT, AS DOES THE RIGHT REAR QUARTER WHICH WILL NEED A PATCH AT BEST, MAYBE A WHOLE QUARTER, SIGNIFICANT RUST THROUGH/BONDO DOWN LOW. ROOF SHOWS SOME AREAS OF MINOR DENTS/BONDO. IN OTHER WORDS, THIS VEHICLE WILL NEED A COMPLETE, AND EXPENSIVE, RESTORATION BEFORE BEING ROAD WORTHY. THE BRAKES ARE NON EXISTANT, PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR. THE ENGINE STARTS AND RUNS SATISFACTORILY, I HAVE ONLY HAD IT RUNNING A COUPLE MINUTES AT A TIME, FROM THE SMEEL OF STALE GAS, IT IS OBVIOUS THE TANK WILL HAVE TO BE DRAINED OR RUN THROUGH. THE 2 BARREL CARB HAS A 'REMANUFACTURED' STICKER, AS DOES THE ALTERNATOR, DON'T KNOW HOW RECENT THEY WERE PURCHASED. ALSO HAVE A COMPLETE SET OF FRONT NEW REPRO FRONT WINDSHIELD MOLDING THAT GOES WITH CAR, NO REAR PIECES, INTERIOR PRETTY PRESENTABLE, NO RIPS TEARS INUPHOLSTERY, DRIVER SIDE FOLDDOWN MOUNT BRACKET IS BROKEN OFF FROM WELD/MISSING. WHICH IS WHY SEAT LOOKS UNEVEN IN FOLD DOWN POSITION, THAT WILL HAVE TO BE ADDRESSED. On Sep-30-11 at 16:46:59 PDT, seller added the following information: TIRES ARE DRY ROTTED AND WILL NEED REPLACING, I JACKED UP THE 8 INCH REAR, AND THE TRANSMISSION DID GO INTO FORWARD AND REVERSE GEARS. OBVIOUSLY, SINCE IT'S NOT ROAD WORTHY, I CANNOT CONFIRM WHAT OVERALL CONDITION THE TRANS IS IN, OR IF IT GOES THROUGH ALL GEARS. THE INTERIOR OPERA LIGHTS WORK, DASH LIGHTS COME ON, MOST OF THE EXTERIOR LIGHTS AND BRAKE/RUNNING LIGHTS COME ON, SOMETIME PARK LIGHTS COME ON. SOMETIMES THEY DON'T. THIS IS A DRUM BRAKE NON POWER STEERING CAR. THE ENGINE MAY BE A 302, OR THE ORIGINAL C CODE 289, BUT I HAVE NOT RUN ANY MANIFOLD NUMBERS. JUST REALIZE IT'S A FACTORY SMALL BLOCK. I DO NOT KNOW IF THE TRANS IS A C-4 OR JUST WHAT. HORN DOES NOT WORK, NOR DOES RADIO, WIRES JUST HANGING LOOSE. THE STORY ON THIS CAR, AND WHY SOME THING (LIKE INTERIOR) LOOK PRETTY GOOD AND SOME SO SO, IS AS FOLLOWS. VIETNAM ERA DAD BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM SON, WHO LOST INTEREST.
