Vehicle Detail

1967 Kaiser Jeepster Roadster Convertible RARE Jeep Corporation Orig V-6 Buick Odd-fire. Turbo-Hydromatic 3 speed automatic tranny, 4WD not hooked up. Very rare 1967 Jeepster Roadster convertible..Not a commando. These were made in 1967 only, and there were less than 1000 produced as I’ve been told, G Brooks use to own one, which sold in Arizona some time ago for around 88 grand. Nicely fully restored ones go between 20 to 25 grand. This is a un-restore Jeepster, but it was refreshed let’s say a number a years ago with new paint, interior etc. Kaiser made jeeps from aprox 65 to the beginning of the seventies, after that they because the American motor company and Kaiser headed to Israel. This model Jeepster was more of a salute to the Orig 48-50 Willy’s Jeepster, which was produce for returning service men, as these were marketed towards vet’s coming home from Viet Nam. This one started up in Grass Valley , Ca and spent many years there, before being taken apart and Non-op-ed, It was rebuilt and painted and was sold to a gentleman in Honolulu, who not only surf all over the island, but ran a boat shop..so in a way, this is a true surfer mobile. We bought and had it shipped back home to California, and he now lives less the 50 miles where is all started. We driven Him all over the Sacramento area (weather permitting, we own two hard tops, we bought as a convert with no intention on putting the top up, and we haven’t) The top is like new as is the zip out style rear window, Tonnou cover is only a years old, BFGoodrich all-terrain radials are almost new with only a few miles, but give it that more tuff look. Jeb(his name) has 89,000 miles aprox, Speedo say 8900 aprox, which we replace as the PO had the wrong cable connected with did not fit the orig Speedo properly. All electric’s work (gauge cluster blinks on and off from time to time...loose wire or ground) (no matter not a lot of night driving, unless a 2am ice cream cone run or a day trip that lasted longer than the sun), LOUD Italian air horns to give it that dual Boat horn sound, because heck. It drives like a big old boat...Smooth and comfy. Floors have all been por's at once time, but the coating is chipping in a couple of places.Lots of room for my two grown sons in the rear seat, much more than our ex-wrangler had, and more room behind the seat too. We taken him to Nevada city, Santa Rosa, Napa for the wine tour train, Golden Gate park SF for a day at the museums and china town.. Nothing fancy, just down the road at 65 -70 mph and gets an honest 26 mpg..Not bad for a heavy-ish jeep. I can’t find any where that its ever been in a accident, lil rust here and there...But still solid that said, besides its 45 years old..99% orig...Air shocks have been added, new shocks on the front, brakes were done last year. Takes a bit to get use to power breaks are not like we have now...PO put in a nice am-fm cassette with a input for an Ipod (dig it) and speakers are in the dash as the orig was, and kept any holes being cut in the panels. Their only orig once. Cut up or hop up a commando, plenty of those in fields all over..But A Jeepster Roadster Convertible is a rare bear indeed, great for parades as the front passenger seats flips forward for easy loading of the folks in the rear seat. This Jeepster is a 10 ft car, the rear windows did roll up and down but I think they are off track, it’s a pain to remove the two rear side panels and beside.. We don’t put the top up. Also, the 4wd was said to work fine, but a pin was missed place from the top (PO Owner said) but he drove all over the island for 9 years and we gone all over, but never have needed it, this engine kicks it in the rear when ya floor it..So really wasn’t something we need, we don’t drive in the rain, we have hard tops for that, nor up in the snows of Donner. Also garage kept, since March it’s been my daily driver cause it’s just fun and everyone comments on it.. So, no reserve..Reason for selling, lost some storage space, need room for a father and son hot rod project that’s in the wings and needs to get start, and in this economy...Could use some extra funds, and one less ride to insure and register... Which is only 80 per year to register and its insured with State Farm at a agreed value of 15,000 no questions asked at 160 per year. No reserve auction, it must be sold...a heck of a lot less then you’ve seen in the past. I reserve the right to end auction early as it’s also on a private venue also, and listed locally. Or a fair offer to end it early (after a none refundable PayPal deposit is placed)..Thanks for looking, deadbeats beware non-payers too. I have connections that go coast to coast at more than fair shipping, and it a easy run to be delivered to Port Oakland to ship over sea’s(fuel cost).. I’ve had vintage Vdubs, lead sleds, euro cars shipped without a problem in the past. So ask any questions now, and bid..BID to win as this is a no reserve auction..High Bidder gets this prize. Jeepster sold where is , as is condition, no other promises made. ALSO...Important Note. The rear stop/ Bobber third brake light is not included, nor is my LA Police academy license plate frame does not go either... Black & Yellow plate California car. Fully licensed, and insured, Title in hand.
