Vehicle Detail

I am relisting this nice original 1964 Corvair convertible. Unfortunately, the woman who was the high bidder, apparently never read the description, looked at the pictures, or asked any questions. She decided that this was not the car for her. I am starting the auction again at $1.00, with no reserve. This is a nice original 1964 Corvair convertible. It is all original, with 69,000 miles. It has the original paint and interior. It has never been restored. I purchased this car from the original owner that used it for parades, and only in the summer, until the 90's when he parked it in the garage. It has been unused since. I was able to get the car running after putting in a new gas line, and did a little work to the brakes. I drove it around the yard. It will need the carburetors rebuilt, as it kills when you give it gas. I had big plans for this car, but I don't have a mechanic to work on it. The car will need the canvas on the top and the rear window replaced. The top mechanism itself works just fine. The interior is original and pretty nice. All of the windows roll up and down easily. All of the glass is perfect, except for a little stone chip on the windshield. Everything seems to work in the car. The lights, directionals, and heater work. The radio does not work. The doors open and close easily, and the locks work. The carpet is original and pretty nice. The paint is black and shiny, but does have some nicks and scratches. There are a few rust spots on the car. The floors are just okay. The original chrome is still bright and shiny. It comes with a nice set of wide whitewalls. There doesn't appear to be anything missing. There is quite a bit of literature -- books, owners manual, etc. -- that comes with the car. In my opinion, this would make a great inexpensive father and son project. All you would really need to do is get the carburetors rebuilt and a tune-up, and you could use it as it is. You could always restore the rest of the stuff later. It has a clear title in my name. I am starting the auction at $1.00, with no reserve. The car will be sold to the high bidder at the end of the auction, so please do not bid unless you are serious about buying the car. I can keep the car safely inside my garage until the new owner can make arrangements to have it picked up. There will not be a big rush to pick up the car once it has been paid for. Please ask any and all questions you may have before bidding, and I will be happy to answer them as honestly as I possibly can. Also, you are welcome to come and inspect the car in person before bidding.
