1979 633CSI, 4-SPEED, 30,600 ORIGINAL MILES THE ICONIC STYLING AND OVERALL GOOD LOOKS OF THIS VEHICLE ARE TRULY TIMELESS. THIS CLASSIC BMW “SHARK NOSE” LOOK HAS INFLUENCED AUTOMOTIVE DESIGN SINCE THIS CAR’S CREATION. THE COLOR OF THIS BMW IS A RICH DEEP BLUE CALLED "ARTIC BLUE METALLIC". THE STUNNING PAINT IS ORIGINAL, ALL THE PANELS ARE STRAIGHT AND TRUE, THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT--NOT EVEN A PARKING LOT DING--AND THERE IS NO RUST. I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN THE EARLY 1990’S FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. HE WAS A BMW ENTHUSIAST WHO HAD PURCHASED THE CAR NEW. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE PURCHASE HE HAD THE ENGINE BALANCED AND BLUE-PRINTED, AND HAD THE THERMAL REACTOR (THE THERMAL REACTOR WAS AN EARLY EMMISSIONS CONTROL DEVICE) REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH PORCELAINIZED STAHL HEADERS (THE HEADERS HAVE A THICK PORCELAIN COATING BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE--MEANING THAT THEY WILL NEVER RUST OR DETERIORATE). THE CAR HAS HAD ALL FULLY SYNTHETIC MOBIL 1 AND REDLINE FLUIDS SINCE NEW, AND IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGED. IF YOU LOOK AT THE ENGINE WHEN THE OIL FILLER CAP HAS BEEN REMOVED YOU WILL SEE THAT THIS ENGINE LOOKS EXACTLY AS IT DID WHEN NEW. PERFECT! THE CAR COMES WITH THE ORIGINAL “HONEYCOMB” STYLE BBS WHEELS AND BRAND NEW MICHELIN TIRES (PURCHASED LAST WEEK AND I HAVE THE INVOICE), IN ADDITION TO THE NEW YOKOHAMA 15" TIRES AND WHEELS THAT ARE SHOWN IN THE PHOTOS. IT IS EQUIPED WITH HIGH-END BILLSTEIN SHOCK ABSORBERS, AND THERE ARE SEVERAL BOXES OF MAINTENANCE ITEMS--INCLUDING A COMPLETE SET OF NEW HOSES--IN THE TRUNK! LASTLY, THESE "EXTRAS" INCLUDE A COMPLETE ORIGINAL FACTORY MANUAL. THE ORIGINAL TOOLS ARE IN THE FACTORY TOOL CASE IN THE TRUNK, EVERYTHING WORKS, AND ITEMS THAT NORMALLY FAIL OVER TIME ON OLDER CARS (FUEL LINES & HOSES FOR EXAMPLE) HAVE BEEN REGULARLY REPLACED. THIS CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN REGISTERED, IT HAS NEVER SEEN WINTER OR SNOW, THE MECHANICALS ARE BUTTER-SMOOTH AND THE CAR NEEDS NOTHING. THEY SIMPLY DO NOT BUILD CARS LIKE THIS ANY MORE. THE CAR COMES EQUIPED WITH BMW'S LEGENDARY SOLID ALUMINUM 5-MPH BUMPERS, AND THE LEATHER INTERIOR IS TOTALLY MINT. THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE AND THE ENGINE IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME AND SMOOTH. IN FACT, WITH ONLY 30,600 MILES ON THIS ENGINE, IT IS VERY NEARLY NEW. PLEASE NOTE: A NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS HAVE INQUIRED AS TO EXACTLY WHAT THE THERMAL REACTOR WAS, AND WHY IT WAS REMOVED, SO HERE IS THE EXPLANATION: THE THERMAL REACTOR WAS AN EARLY EMMISSIONS CONTROL DEVICE THAT ESSENTIALLY ROBBED ENGINE POWER AND REDUCED ENGINE LIFE. THE ORIGINAL OWNER WAS AN ENGINEER, AND BECAUSE HE WAS AWARE OF THESE ISSUES, HE HAD THE THERMAL REACTOR REMOVED IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASE, AND REPLACED WITH THE PORCELAINIZED STAHL HEADERS. THE CAR ACTUALLY HAD SUPERIOR EMMISSIONS TESTS AFTER THE THERMAL REACTOR WAS REMOVED WHEN COMPARED TO THE FACTORY BASELINE TEST BEFORE REMOVAL. THE USE OF THESE THERMAL REACTORS IS ONE OF THE REASONS THAT THESE BMW 1979 633CSI CARS ARE ESPECIALLY RARE.
