Up for auction is my beautiful 1976 Land Cruiser FJ40. This cruiser is turn key and an absolute pleasure to drive. As far as I know, I am the third owner. The odometer shows 19,295 miles and has gone around meaning actual miles are 119,2xx. Factory power brakes and added power steering. It was recently repainted with the factory color Rustic Green in a single stage Sikkens paint. It did not require much body work and had a little rust in the rear corners (about the size of a credit card on each side) that was cut out and repaired professionally. The only spot of rust that still exists is a tiny hole I found under the gas tank on the passenger side smaller than a penny, easily fixed. Though the paint is not a show job, it gets plenty of looks and compliments. I drove the cruiser at Hot August Nights in Reno this year and recieved several compliments for its overall condition and show. Recent work within last 200 miles include: new rancho 5000 shocks, new powder coated wheels, interior bed-lined, new Sachs clutch, new rear main seal, oil pan gasket, head rebuilt with new valves, new head gasket set including valve cover gasket and exhaust gasket, new spark plugs, new battery, shackle bushings, fuel filter, all doors weather stripping. Probably a few other things I am forgetting. The only area that still seems to leak a drop of oil is the transfer case drain plug which amounts to a couple drops over night. While the clutch was replaced, the transmission and transfer case were thoroughly cleaned and drivelines serviced and re-painted. The undercarriage is clean as you can see in some pictures. The seats are original with Specter covers showing a little wear on them. Factory upholstery needs recovering on the bottoms, backs are ok. I do not have the head rests and a shoulder harness for the passenger side (only a lap belt that was taken from a rear jump seat). Jump seats are in good condition with minimal wear. Both passenger and driver interior door panels are new as well as visors. There is a reserve gas tank that the first owner installed and has not been used in 17+ years. Tires are Firestone Radial ATX 31x10.5x15 at 50%+- tread and a brand new spare. All lights work including gauge cluster (bulbs replaced even if not burnt). The only light not working is the dome light on the drivers side which just needs to be wired/plugged in. The rear heater is there but not plumbed or wired. previous owner disconnected it and I never have had a heat issue without it. The motor starts right up even on a cold morning and sounds great. Just passed Nevada Smog. 4 wheel drive works good as well as locking Warn hubs. Transmission and clutch feel and shift great also just changed oil in both. I have described the Cruiser as thoroughly as possible and am prepared to answer any questions you may have or send additional pictures. It is only lacking a few things to be 100% original.
