Vehicle Detail
This 98,xxx miles car has always been adult-owned and responsibly driven. It is strong, reliable, and very smooth. I am the third owner and put only 18,000 fair-weather miles on the car since April 2007. I know the previous owners, and the car has always been well cared for. It has a clean title and clean Carfax, VIN WBSBG9327TEY72598. The previous owner installed aftermarket Sony head unit, Alpine subwoofer, and amp. The car is all stock, except for a ZHP shift knob (the original, in good shape, comes with the car). Other accessories include a BMW trunk liner and Bavarian Auto Noah car cover. The exterior shows very well. The paint is deep and lustrous, but it has some surface scratches and dings. I tried to capture the worst issues in photos. The wheels are straight, though they have some minor curb rash. The interior is in excellent shape. The carpets and mats have no stains. The plastics are in excellent condition. The leather is in good shape, with some wear on the driver’s side bolster. This car is equipped with the luxury package, including the Harmon Kardon speaker system, sunroof, heated power seats, additional leather in the interior, and wooden inserts in the dash. Mechanically the car is excellent, with new brakes and new tires. The transmission and clutch are fine. The engine does not tick, and it consumes very little oil (about ¼ quart every 3,000 miles). The car pulls with authority and handles terrifically. It has had 3,000 mile Royal Purple oil changes. Other recent maintenance follows: 96,500 mi.: New battery92,800 mi.: Four new Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires 92,200 mi.: New brakes at all four corners, BMW OEM rotors and Axxis Ultimate pads 83,100 mi.: New flex disk and oxygen sensors81,100 mi.: New alternator and accessory belts, rear suspension mounts, power steering hoses and fluid, thermostat and housingThe car has a few minor issues, all of which can be easily remedied. The washer fluid pump has stopped working, and I have not had a chance to investigate it. The coolant level sensor should be replaced: it advises to add coolant when the reservoir is full (a common issue with the E36). The power lock actuator in the driver’s door sometimes does not work. The previous owner scraped up the front air dam (shown in photos). The lower grill slats are not totally secure, and the car is missing the front under panel.
