Vehicle Detail
1977 Ford Mustang II I bought this car from a friend in 2000 and used it as my daily-driver until 2004. From 2004-2007, I used it as a weekend cruiser. From 2007 to the present, it's mostly lived in covered storage with occasional trips around the block to keep all the moving bits moving. I've finally decided that I'm never going to get around to doing anything with her so it's time she goes to someone who will. The Good 302 V8 with Edelbrock Performer 4bbl carb and matching intake. When I was driving the car regularly, I pulled and cleaned the carb, checked the jets, needles, etc. every spring. Never had any trouble with it. Easy to play with needle and jet sizes if you're into that sort of thing. Starts, runs, drives, stops. Basically does everything that a car should.Shifts nicely through all the gears. Kickdown works as it should. Great power steering and brakes. All of the indicators, gauges, lights, etc. work.Nice Yokohama Avid rubber all the way around. All of the glass is good.Clean and clear Illinois title in my name.Comes with original owner's manual and service records going back to 2000. The Bad Lots of rust. She's lived and worked in Illinois and Wisconsin for at least the last 20 years.Needs miscellaneous interior work. Seatcovers in front, glovebox hinge is broken, driver's side floor has major rust - some replaced with aluminum flashing, has a black dashboard currently fitted over the old green one, trunk carpet is pretty ragged -- it's all workable if you don't care, but it's a project if you do.Leaks a little oil -- no more than any other 70's muscle car. The Ugly Has a cheap, non-functional tape deck in the dash and a working modern CD player rigged up in the glove box with 6.5" Sony Xplode speakers in the doors. Had subs and such in a prior life and some of the wiring for that is hanging around under the runners, etc.I want the winning bidder to be happy, so you're more than welcome to come check out the car before placing a bid. Just drop me a line and we can set something up. All in all, she's a fun little sleeper as-is and would make a great project starter or parts car for whatever else you have in your stable. If you have any questions at all, please ask before bidding. As for driving the car home, well that's at your own risk. As I said, this car used to be my daily driver and it's done many trips from Milwaukee to St. Louis and back. However, it hasn't done more than quick jaunts around the block since 2007 so I'm selling as-is where-is. Thanks for understanding!
