Vehicle Detail
This 1967 A-Code mustang GTA has been in the family for roughly 15 years. Belongs to my 76 yr old father. He purchased the car from a neighbor who was the original owner. I'm told the vehicle was built in CA and delivered to the ford dealer in northern CA, Sacramento. It was there for roughly 30 years and spent the balance of its life in San Diego. I'm told the vehicle has never been in an accident and is a rare model of GT Mustang. I'm not an expert on cars but I know this car fairly well and its rare due to its options and well care since new. Each of the owners were all adults and car was always generously maintained and garaged all its life The vehicle was restored years back. First the car was stripped to the bare body. The individual metal components were sand blasted and epoxy primed. The under carriage was painted black with an epoxy paint. The exterior was painted white with a PPG Dupont. The individual rubber components including suspension, front end, seals, weather-stripping, seats, headliner, etc.. were all replaced. All the chrome was replaced. All the trim and emblems were replaced. The engine was rebuilt, the transmission was rebuilt, the misc components within the engine compartment including the alternator, power steering and power disc brakes were replaced. Vehicle Options: disc brakes, power steering, upper console, GTA, A Code, 4 barrel, am/ fm disc stereo player. Originally, the car had the lower console but this was removed later as nobody liked it. The original air cleaner was removed for the pictures but included in the sale. Here's what he spent on the car over the recent yrs: The exhaust is a mandrel bent 3” with flow masters. The exhaust alone was more than $1,200 (Ed Hansen Garage) Sand blast, epoxy prime components AND body/ fenders/ misc body panels: $3,500 (El Dorado) Sand blast and powder coat original GT rims (these were the original rims sold with car when new). New BFGoodrich tires: $950. Paint exterior, interior, trunk, engine compartment and under carriage: $15,500 (Pacific Auto) Engine and transmission rebuilt:$ 5,900 (Hale) Replace interior: $3,500 (Armando’s) Dynamat interior and doors (see pictures) Replace chrome, emblems, weatherstripping: $1,900 (Pacific Auto) Upgraded wiring harness and lighting system: $3,500 (Dunn) Front lights and fog lights were upgraded to the latest white light system Red Top Battery All new harness and wiring system Misc other: $5,600 (misc vendors etc) Since the car was detailed, its been driven roughly 400 miles per year. As you can see from the pictures of the fender wells, only during the best of weather. Car is always garaged and looking for a new home. Areas that require upgrade or replacement: heater system. Windshield washer fluid system for the front windshield. Not sure of others but guessing someone will figure other areas of personal interest. Please see pictures of a 44 yr old car. Sold as is accordingly. I'm not a car person but will do my best to answer questions. Best available through text at 619-249-1747. I'll check my email through the week (occassionally) at "audit@cox.net"
